The MEP803A is supposed to have 800U batteries installed with 800 CCA at 0 deg. F. and 1000 CA at 32 deg. F. Normally, the genset doesn't require batteries that large, but you do live in Alaska. I've seen a lot of Optima Red Tops in those generators. It also sounds suspicious to me that only...
I dumped mine one time off-roading and broke a mirror stalk. The mirror was identical with the civilian model, as are the turn signals. There are some OEM turn signals on Ebay right now. I would try to keep it 100% original.
Attached is a photo of the battery bracket installed. As you can see, the cooling fins on the battery are intact because I used a longer nylon bushing to give them clearance. I have no idea why HDT didn't do the same thing.
Sorry for the delay - I was unable to take the photos until today. The chisel bit has CDB USA stamped on it so it apparently isn't made by Stanley. Attached are the photos.
Welcome to the site. You will enjoy your diesel bike. I've had one for several years now. So far it has been mostly dependable. Does yours run good? I was lucky in that mine ran perfect when received. What about a title? I was also lucky in that mine came with a clear title. Do you have...
In mine, all the hydraulic tools are Stanley. You should be able to buy a new one from Stanley, but I would look on Ebay, etc. for a used one. I've seen those tools on Ebay before. You can look at Stanley Infrastrcture and see all of the pavement breaker bits listed. Handheld Breakers |...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers. I also have a 1998 M35A3 WW. I changed out my motor oil in the transmission when I first received it with Dexron 3. Fortunately, I have never had any issues with my transmission in the 12 years I've owned the truck, although I have put a lot of miles on it heavily...
Normally when you have one dim headlight it is due to a bad connection, either power or ground. In my experience it is almost always poor ground. However, that won't make your headlights fail. I think you have purchased some poor quality bulbs from your vendor. If your next one fails and it...
I had a similar problem with one headlight on an M35A2 I used to own. I went through three Chinese manufactured headlight bulbs, all on one side, in about two months. I believe they were leaking air because when they failed, they flashed and turned black. I then found an NOS Sylvania...
Here is the Student Handout. Please also note that working on and using the FLU419 can be very dangerous for someone not familiar with the vehicle. As a start, you should read the TM 5-2420-224-10 manual, which is the Operators Manual. Ask about anything you don't understand.
I cleaned up my M35A3 wheels and painted the insides with high gloss black rustoleum after wire brushing the o-ring grooves. I replaced the grommets for the valve stems and torqued them to 45 - 60 FT-LB. I used nothing on my O-rings. My CTIS is still hooked up and functional. I don't have...
You need to find the air leak and repair it. You should not drive the FLU419 with insufficient air pressure. The brakes are basically not functional without sufficient air pressure. Check the three brass drain valves on the air tanks. You should unscrew them and clean them. I actually took...
