When you drive the truck you should be able to easily and distinctly tell when the transmission shifts to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and when the torque converter locks up, assuming you still have a 1545 transmission and it wasn't changed out for a 545. You should also be able to tell when the...
I found new stainless steel Parker couplers on Ebay for a very reasonable price. Identical models to what was on the FLU. I replaced both hose couplers on the FLU, which were severely corroded, and added both couplers to the hydraulic breaker, which were missing. My Stanley breaker was brand...
It sounds like the guy simply dumped oil into the transmission without using the dipstick. Have you read the TMs for the M35A3? You check the transmission fluid level with the engine running, not stopped. Hopefully, the transmission isn't damaged. What kind of oil did they put in the...
That would definitely be a neat tool to have, but they go for too high a price for me. Even the used ones are very expensive. Plus, you are tied to using it with the FLU hydraulics. I purchased a 3/4" Chicago Pneumatic impact wrench years ago. I run it off the pneumatic system on my M35A3 as...
We lost power again due to thunderstorms last night at around 8:30 PM. The power came back on around 7:00 AM this morning. The tank on my MEP003A was filled to the top when I started it. I refilled it this morning with 10 gallons of diesel at $5.36 a gallon which came to $53.60 for one 10-1/2...
I had something similar once and was afraid that the dirt would go down into the cylinder. I was able to snake 1/4 inch copper tubing down into the cylinder and I put high pressure air on it. I was then able to dig out the dirt and virtually 100% of the dirt was blown out by the air. I then...
A few years ago an elderly guy pulled out in front of my M35A3. Once he saw me, he panicked and came to a stop directly blocking my lane. A truck was coming in the other lane and the right of my lane was blocked so I couldn't swerve out of the way. I don't remember the exact speed I was...
The engine should shut down when the hand throttle is pushed to the stop. You shouldn't have to move the hand throttle to the left and further down. It took some time to adjust properly, but mine works correctly. To start, I simply pull the hand throttle back about 1 cm and shutting down I...
I had the same problem with my FLU419. I replaced the rod with a new one from EI, the old one was bent like a pretzel. I also replaced all springs. I then dismantled everything and cleaned it up. You don't need to tilt the cab. It is really tight in there, but tilting the cab isn't...
I think you are over-thinking this. I agree that removing the glow plugs is the way to go, but why worry about the angle of your adapter for sealing? Why not simply wrap the threads with teflon tape to do your compression test. You aren't running the engine, only spinning it with the starter...
I found that if you open the petcock on the bottom and make sure it is cleaned out with a piece of wire and then crank the starter with the petcock open until clean fuel runs out the petcock, it takes very little cranking to start the engine after a filter change. I actually leave the petcock...
I store very little diesel fuel for my generator. However, I have a deuce, a diesel FLU419, two JD diesel tractors, a diesel Mercedes car, and a diesel F250. I simply use a dip tube into the fuel tanks of the vehicles to fill the day tank on the MEP003A generator. Since vehicle fuel tanks...
I love my M1030M1. The only thing I don't like about it is that it sits very high, and although I'm 5'8" my feet barely touch the ground. Otherwise, I really like it. It really handles well and has a lot of torque. I've only had a few problems since I got the bike 4 years ago. I had a...
According to the specs in the TMs, an M1102 trailer should fit in the bed of an M35A3, albeit a tight fit. Has anyone actually done that? I would feel better if I knew that someone had actually moved an 1102 in a deuce bed before I try it many hours from home.
I'm not surprised that you got a lot of spark when disconnecting the battery cables. If you disconnect the cables while the starter is engaged, there is a very large amount of current flowing.
