Might want to research the remote turbo more. Lag is an issue for all of them in some manner. Also there is the oil supply and return line issues. Most use electric oil pumps to scavenge and return the oil. Also you're giving up a lot of thermal energy in a remote setup.
I'm not saying it...
Room for it? Sure.
Run off two of the V belts? Not a chance.
This would be a exercise in futility on the 6.2 or 6.5 due to peak power output. Superchargers only help mid/top end output. At low end they actually cause a parasitic loss. In upwards of 50+hp. When you only make 140hp...
The Pickup, van, and civilian Hummer exhaust manifolds will bolt onto any 6.2/6.5. From there, that's where things go south.
The injectors are different lengths which causes issues for the passenger manifold depending on the injectors installed. More of an issue with CUCV's.
The intake...
That first trailer shown scares me. At least without it being guided. That's a lot of mass that could topple over that puny harbor freight trailer. (Not a knock, I have one of those trailers)
Those pneumatic towers are awesome. I'd love to find one for my M105/Comm Shelter.
I can understand. I bought my Jeep back in 2010 and have been waiting since then for a diesel powered option. They're supposed to release them next year. But much to my dismay, it appears that they'll only be available in automatics. After putting 3 transmissions in diesel powered Chrysler...

Just got home from picking up that 25kw transmitter I won. About a 200 mile trip today. Smokey didn't miss a step. I wish it had a OD though just to help with fuel consumption and noise. I will be installing a radio at least to make it less monotonous to drive. Trailer and load were...
Just got home from a 200 mile trip. I pulled a big tex 14L-22 trailer with mine today. (https://www.bigtextrailers.com/14tl-pro-series-tilt-bed-equipment) The trailer weighs 3660lbs. Then the 25kw transmitter I picked up weighed probably another 3K total. There were a number of hills and...
Another bit of brutal honesty. The 6.2, even with a turbo, is not a powerhouse. But it seems we're picking at topics to discuss.
OP, here's some facts to consider:
The 700R4 has been used in several CUCVs.
It will cost you at least a grand or two.
At that price point, expect a "stock"...
I've had a 700R4 in a Suburban on 40's, dragged trailers with it too and beat on it. Never had a problem with it. Had a 90 pickup too with one, traded it in with 280K miles with the original transmission in it. Since we're making blanket statements.
That said, the early 700R4's were problems...
Gale Banks is a great salesman, I'll give him that. But that's it.
Turbo selection for low end boost is something to consider. But the fact we're geared low negates that a great deal. We simply are gear bound for top speed and spooling isn't an issue due to gears. I run 10psi of boost...
The 700R4 swap is popular. Just understand you'll also need to swap the t-case or switch over to match splines. I've got a 6.2 in mine that I added a civilian 6.5 turbo setup to. I lifted mine and run 37" HMMWV tires. I still wish it had a OD though. But it will manage 60-65mph now. Just...
Didn't take photos, but I finished installing the 7 pin plug and a 4 pin. Tightened up a loose steering box. And replaced the heater core. Need to give it a wash and install the dash cover I have. I should probably install a radio too if I start driving it more.
Sent from my SM-G965U using...
So I've been putting off doing anything to the 1008 for a while. But Friday a dead starter and the need to be able to tow a trailer prompted some much needed attention. Tony had a starter that got it running again. The towing hitch project took longer than expected. 34 year old rusted up...
