I too have one of these nice little gennies. My next generator will be a MEP-016b. Anyways, I am curious about what that rubber hose with the valve on the end does (2nd pic). It's the one that sits on top of the fuel tank.

OK, I made the change on my '68 M35A2 and my M109a3. I converted both trucks from State Farm Commercial to State Farm Classical policy. I now only pay $26/6months instead of $36/month. Pretty nice change;-)

I would definately start by changing out all the filters and changing the oil. Take a look in your fuel tank for water. After sitting that long, I'm sure you've got an accumulation of water in your fuel tank from condensation. May need to drain the tank and start with fresh fuel. If she has sat...
There is a ton of info to weed through. I started this thread because I too wanted to know what to bring to a recovery. However, I kept finding threads.....that's why the links started to stack like they did;-). I have not yet recovered my 5 ton. Still waiting for the owner to get the SF97.
