Even if you had to do a "smog check" on the truck it would still pass as it is. You are allowed 55% opacity for pre 1991 diesel powered trucks. No need to mix fuels. Register it historic. Don't go to DMV, use a registration service.

The PT pump is a positive displacement gear pump. Even if the filter is dry, it will pick up fuel. Just put your foot to the wood and crank it. Trust me!
Filling the filter is old school, it has been done for years, but, when you do this you put unfiltered fuel into the pump. Old school days...
If the winch was on the side of the seal, that is most likely the cause of the leak, especially if the winch hasn't been used.

Get a pump sprayer, like a weed sprayer, from your local hardware store. Assorted1/8 pipe fittings and pipe to get at the M/C top..brass preferred, your flavor of BF, and away you go!
