I know it's been a while, but your website says you're all out of those battery boxes. I'd like to get my hands on a battery box and one of those flat-plate coolant heaters. If anyone can help me out, please send me a PM.
Is it OK to run the alcohol evaporator kits dry? You know, like in warm weather. What about installing an on/off valve inline between the alcohol evaporator and the air compressor? Just wondering whether that might allow you to keep alcohol in the evaporator, without wasting it when it's not needed.
I'd like to read more about how that brake bleeder works.
Dead link. I tried the 'old' trick, but it's not working for me.
I've been reading everything I can find about the air lines and fording kits, and have found a lot of your posts to be VERY helpful. Thanks.
I was checking out the air filter housing today on Mah Deuce this afternoon, and I see where that nipple is on the back of the housing, but why WOULDN'T they have tapped into the filtered part of the intake can? If I wanted to plumb the compressor into the intake permanently, is there any reason...
I'm interested in adapting a hydraulic winch to mah deuce too. Didn't the Canadian deuces run hydraulic winches? Maybe one of our friends up north could post some info for us about how those are set up. I remember M109guy posted something about there being a huge hydraulic reservoir where the US...
That's what I've been thinking about doing. Seems like that would make a pretty clean setup. Any reason why that might not be a good idea? Maybe spitting out a little bit of oil? Could the vacuum cause any problems by creating a venturi effect?
After thinking about it, I decided to take my tank up to a radiator shop in San Jose. They're going to hot-tank it and blast it out, then apply Red-Kote (made by Damon). Anybody used this stuff before? Quoted me $250 to clean and line the tank with Red-Cote. Sound reasonable?
Ouch. My tank isn't actually in such bad shape, I just figured that I ought to clean it out now, while I'm overhauling the rest of the truck. WreckerMan suggested filling the tank with pea gravel and tumble it. Any other DIY-type ideas?
The baffles are going to prevent any type of pressure-washing or vacuuming from being very effective, right? So how should I go about cleaning out my tank?
I think that would be kinda sketchy too, but in picture number six you can see that the front spring hangers are tied together. Guessing there's a similar crossmember in the rear.
I just sheared-off the key on one of the lock-washers while re-assembling the front hubs. Anybody know if there's a part number for any similar keyed lock-washer that I might be ale to pick up at a local parts store?
