    Sealed distributor and plug wires

If the breather piping is still present on the M38A1 You should be able to straight swap them over. Google the distributor types, seems like the parts are sold to fit iether mode. we can't post that popular site, but research shows them sold there as fitting the range of jeeps you have.

Importing Caterpillar D.E.U.C.E. Deployable Universal Combat Earthmover

Some of that stuff sells for really low money over here. There are engineers tractors like new with about 6 miles on them! going for about £10,000. Have rubber track pads and full equiptment. But what the heck would a collector get out of it with such little use for display only.

any mechanics specializing in CUCVs in OR or WA?

When you say it's dead, is that no start on cranking or no battery power to crank and start. Sounds like an electrical problem. So you need an auto electrician. (they shoudn't scratch their heads). You could pull a battery lead and if the engine dies the solonoid on the pump has failed deu to no...

no running lights ,tail ,stop or turn

I would go to the faulty lights first and check as said above for bulbs bieng of, then is power getting to the units themselves. Check earthing (grounds). Then check out faults with the switching. Good luck with it, electrics can be a hassle, let us know your progress and the solution when found.

    M923a2 prices

Seems about right. I get Emails of sails and some of those trucks go for 6K-8K, and by the time a dealer trucks them out and services and repairs where wanted plus profit, soon mounts up. If I lived stateside G.L. is where I would bid I reckon. As some real bargains do come up. There was very...
