Go for it, you need a camper, and you would have an exellent very usable truck and trailer to show off. I converted my M54A2 to have a russian radio body, converted it to full camping facilities, suits me, impressive at shows, well satisfied.
Absalutely fabulous buy! wish I had the chance of a truck like that. Wiring? no problem, when you make a camper out of it wire it to you own requirements.
Brave project. But as you seem to (absalutely) know exactly what you are doing.. My guess is the finished result will be better than "new". Watching ongoing work with great interest.
That sounds like a faulty light switch unit. I would take out the switch and check it it out. You could whilst it's out take a hot wire wire to the plug ( sockect/connector ) and see what works one at a time. CHECK the earth wire first with a meter. You don't want to put a hot wire to that one...
Wow, that certainly biting the bullet or taking the preverbial bull by the horns. Good luck with you drive home if the vehicle checks out and drives (and stops) ok. If you have no experience driving a truck it would be a good idea to get some tuition, or guidence from a member there before...
That looks a really good purchase. Congratulations on a successfull trip also. What voltages can those sets be made to put out?. Would, they do 240 volts 50 cps?
Running light they simply do not get hot. I use the radiator covers all year round as well to keep the temperature up to a reasonable level. My thermostats are 180s as well.
Welcome from the U.K. Start by opening the hood, Examin electrical connections and solonoids. Was a componant hot or burnt when (if) you did have a look. A lot of problems can be troubleshot by a carefull look and probe, and refering to the T.M. applicable to your vehicle. Let us know how you...
That is some serious work you are carrying out there.. You will soon see the light at the end of (this very long) tunnel. Your efforts are stirring me go start working on my "fleet" for this years events.
Welcome to the hobby. You have a very nice looking truck. When I down size (he say's yet again!) I would like another 109. add air power steering like my last one..convert It to a camper (like the last one). Rather wish I had not sold it.
