I have difficulty obtaining something like that and I'm in the Eropean Union. I have been trying to get an MT-LB 6 or similar, (T54 recovery) but it it is very risky sending money to a foreighn dealer, as I know of people that have had really bad deals and even lost (all their) money.
Yes indeed..the obligatory pictures would be most welcome, as you are..may you have many happy days with your truck with the new freindships you will forge at shows and rallies you (hopefully) will attend.
Good luck with your move. Is there no system like we have over here, where you put in your requiements for shipping and bids are offered by variouse competing firms? (like any van-any where) truck anything over here.
Are you sure the "noise" is coming from the engine? as when the heat builds up the transmissions and shafts can start to whine or worse on steady throttle. If the engine is (more) noisy on slack running with no load on bearings etc, then (hopefully not!) that might be pointing to exessive wear...
As said before you are going to have to get used to slower cruise speeds. And in any case a steady speed maintained soon eats up the miles. Not all that big a deal if you are out to enjoy a trip. I would go for the 5 ton expandable van, (or one like in the post abave) and convert that to your...
Looking at all the work you are carrying out makes me think I should really start to go through some of my stuff. It just seems to get harder the older you are.

Yes we have a huge steel barn and enough vehicles to start an army! We go to local shows whenever we can, And the War and Peace every year (our mecca) I roll dice flip coins or enni meeni miny mo to choose which one (two( or three..)) I must take. I am thinking of cutting down now .. but was...
You could look up How to bypass the control module (timer) and have it switch wired in the dash. You could then time it yourself, and keep it hot whilst cranking. As said do some research though, I have my F350 hard wired (NOT bypassed (so I control the activation sequence at the control module...
So good to see another veteren vehicle getting the treatment, I used to have an M9A1 but boy was it expensive on tracks, especially on pavement. Took me 3 years to rebuild it.
Thats not the case over here, so three came up at once as the bases closed down. So I had all there was. Now I have the only F350 full kit ambulance in the south of england. And the only M45 fire unit in the uk. And one two only gamma goats in the U.K. on the road. An interesting and unique...
Your project seems to be progressing nicely. Your truck will look really good when all is completed. I wish there was other people with trucks like ours at shows I attend over here.
