I'm checking my TMs for differences between models, the M945 is called a "chassis" truck, while the older equivalent M821 and M328A1 are called "Bridge transporting". See TM 5-210 "Military Floating Bridge Equipment" for their intended use....
Ethanol as a fuel (gasoline engines, not diesel) must be 99.9% pure, no water content.
Moonshine is probably at best 70 or 80 % pure and must be distilled many times to make it fuel grade.
In any case, diesels, including multifuel engines don't like alcohol.
If you want to make your own fuel...
Many (most?) of us keep these vehicles as a hobby and the more accessories the better, needing them or not. :-)
Each system becomes a project and help keep us "off the street".

BTW, I do have a take-off compressor from an LDS465-1A engine that you can have for $45 plus shipping. It appears to be in good condition. It's a dual piston type and turns smoothly, some exterior dirt and rust and would be sold "as is". Shipping weight is 30 lb from 24120.

Sounds reasonable. There is a decal on the frame near the 5th wheel on my 757 marked "Max Load 45,000lb", so it must be the trailer then and not the 5th wheel itself, since the same part is used for other trucks. Couldn't find the rating in any of the TMs I looked in...
How is a 5th wheel rated, vertical loading and horizontal (pull)? What does, say a 45,000 lb rating actually refer to? How does the rear bogie capacity fit into the equation? Same 5th wheel assy is used on deuces and 5-tonners, for example.

Okay, since you insist. Images from my cranetruck with a warning light from an M543 wrecker. The distance from side to side on the inside is 6 inches, the second image shows the light housing in place and the 3rd image is from my son's M37 and it should fit without modification.

You may want to remind others that holes for pipe thread tapping should be tapered using a pipe thread tapered reamer. Alternately, a smaller size bit can be used, but for best result use a reaming tool. (Pipe threads are tapered)

I have had my deuce weighed many times, experimenting with shifting the load to the rear with the knuckleboom etc and there have been no surprises.
The M621 uses single 1100-20 tires also, which weigh a little more and do take a look at those locker axles, they are substantially bigger around...
