Thanks, this is what I'm looking for (see image). If more than 3/8 inch is showing and the FDC is bypassed, then the fuel delivery may have to come down a bit.
I have a feeling that you'll soon move the gauge to a location where it's easier to read while driving....
How is your fuel delivery setting? How much of the threaded rod is showing?
Nice job Jon!
If a person doesn't want to drill the oil pan for the return, use the unused dipstick port, behind the starter on the deuce multifuelers and below the water pump on the 5-ton ones.
Another thought about the resistor....it may be part of a radio noise suppression circuit and should in that case also include a capacitor. If so, then the resistor/capacitor should not effect the operation of the pump. Not enough info to go by....
Is there a reference somewhere to look up info based on the contract number on the data plate?
For example, how many units were shipped under a specific contract (DAAE06-68-C-0003)?
Thanks.
Tools, tools and more tools, the deuce is bolted together and with the right tool, just about anything can be repaired if parts are provided.
Non repairable items should be carried along, get an extra turn signal flasher since it is unsafe to operate the truck without proper turn signals and...
What is the power rating of this resistor? Should be at least 10 or more watts, if smaller it will burn up, not good within the tank....
Besides, it shouldn't be there in the first place....
Edit: A 10-watt resistor is about 2 inches long and will get hot dissipating 8 watts or so. A resistor...
Maybe we don't see the problem clearly, we like pictures. :-)

Edit: I think Militoy answered your question, though.
Low oil viscosity (=fuel mixed with it) will lower the pressure.
A bad or sluggish oil pressure sending unit. Take it out and test with compressed air at the right pressure. Not used if you have a mechanical unit, I know.
The regulator on the engine block below the turbo, controls the upper...
Explain this resistor, please, it's new to me.
When Jon and I visited Barstow back in '06, I bought a used pump from them for $75. They had a bin full of them and we just picked one that was running after a bench test. It still works...
Have you checked the ground all the way to the batteries?
My xm757 8x8 has a lot of improvements over earlier and possibly later vehicles as well and one is in the grounding of the instrument panel. The panel itself is electrically isolated from the dash to prevent, so called, ground loops and...
Bruce, it's only for a "component test", not normal operating procedure. As for driving off in cold weather, the same applies to this vehicle, see image below.
The transmission comes with a thermostatic switch, which is set at 305°F and turns on a warning light on the dash. The switch NSN is...
About the transmission op temp, this is for the xm757 8x8 6-speed Allison TX200-6 , but I don't imagine it being much different from yours.

Alan Haage is a good man, excellent service.
I have been using the Aervoe 997B (24084) out of a rattle can since I'm working on a small area at a time (xm757 8x8) and it's almost a perfect match for the Vietnam era OD.
The paint is holding up very well, freshly sprayed paint matches now two...
