Have you downloaded the -24P TM? have you looked at this picture? If it did not spark before you took it apart, and now sparks, there is only two possible answers. The wires are not hooked up Properly, or you put the starter back together wrong.

The solenoid is a big magnet. It pushes out the pinon gear when energized with 24VDC.

ALWAYS, check that the wires are hooked up right first. Then do the trouble shooting. Is the gen set on the floor? Concrete floor? Pallet?

It cost a lot mere here, but thats what I use. GREAT equipment.

I have one of each. I put a battery on the Recover mode, and let it work for a few days. Then hit it with an internal resistance tester. Then my Carbon Pile tester. Its always better to KNOW, then to Trust/Think something is good. The carbon Pile tester is also a good way to load the battery...
