FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

When you say 'cable' do you really mean cable? On mine there is a steel rod that screws into a ball joint on the bottom and the top is threaded. On my SEE, there aren't any cables anywhere on the throttle mechanism. Mine is bent badly right where the threads start on the top and is causing...

Official 2020 Georgia Military Vehicle Rally (20GMVR) information thread

I'm ready to go now! I have reservations at Wolf Den 1, assuming my Son-In-Law and Grandson come again this year. Hopefully they will.

Newly Acquired 003A - Unknown Condition

The MEP003A is fairly simple. I like it because it is air cooled. No messing around with a liquid cooling system.

Newly Acquired 003A - Unknown Condition

As Scoobyshep said, don't let the engine idle. Once it starts, adjust the RPM so that you get 60 Hz. Leave it there or make small adjustments to keep it near 60 Hz. When shutting down, shut it down when it reads 60 Hz. Never let the engine idle or it will damage the VR. These are fantastic...

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

Just make sure you roll your cart on plywood sheets as others suggested. Otherwise, those small wheels will sink immediately in the soft ground you mentioned.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Does anyone know of a source for an alcohol evaporator tank with all of the fittings and hose that is in good condition? I removed mine for cleaning. Although mine has a new looking cap on it, the tank was about half full of dirt and sand and all of the fittings are rusted solid. Someone was...

M1088, Previous Runner, now no power at all... ideas?

How do you know the batteries are good? I would recommend charging the batteries. If you don't have a 24 VDC charger, use a 12 VDC charger and charge each battery separately. I had a 6TL battery in one of my deuces fail unexpectedly. Headlights worked. Starter wouldn't turn over. I...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I need to replace the main air line from the downloader to the air tanks. I want to use stainless steel. I've found a 6 foot piece of 10 mm O.D. stainless with 2 mm wall thickness. However, I'm trying to find the correct ferrules for the connections. I can use the original nuts, but I don't...

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

Mine came with the chainsaw as well. Actually, I haven't even removed the hydraulic tools from the compartments. I've been too busy with other issues. The jackhammer looks almost new. The chainsaw and drill look used but in good shape.

Loader piping fittings JIC with tapered threads?

I see that there are some of the fitting you need for sale on Ebay at $10.00 each, new, although he does want $5.00 for shipping. https://www.ebay.com/itm/DAIMLER-0009905871-ELBOW-PIPE-FOR-FLU419-FRONT-LOADER/233314242472?hash=item36529ccfa8:g:2vcAAOSwY4pdVa0V Gary

The number inside your cab is likely the registration number.

    History of my new FLU419/SEE

I'm talking about the numbers on the front and rear of the SEE. Perhaps your have been painted over. Mine were very clear.

    History of my new FLU419/SEE

Do you have the U.S. Army, Air Force or Marine Corps unit numbers from the SEE? I was able to obtain significant history on two different deuces by contacting the U.S. Army units they were previously assigned to. One of the units forwarded a lot of paperwork on the deuce, where it had been...

    Headlights flash with turn signals

I would ask the guy you bought it from if he had the issue and ask him who was working on it and what they were working on.

    WIX oil filter troubles

I've been using FRAM in my MEP003A. Mainly because I previously worked for Honeywell International before retirement. Honeywell made them at the time, but FRAM has since been sold to a New Zealand company.

Soon to be a new FLU419 owner (maybe)

Congratulations on buying the SEE. I just bought one myself a couple of weeks ago. Like you, mine came with the hydraulic tools as well, although I haven't tried them out. One thing I did was purchase a print copy of the Case Parts Catalog for the 35C backhoe on Ebay for $10.00. This has...

    WIX oil filter troubles

WIX is part of MANN + HUMMEL, a German company. I'm wondering if one is inch-threads and one metric threads, or some other thread pattern such as BSPP. Go to: https://www.ring-plug-thread-gages.com/PDChart/G-series-Fine-thread-data.html for a table of G-designated thread patterns. I think...

Looking at a Deuce, Has Some Issues

How far down does the brake pedal travel before you get a hard pedal? Brakes that need adjusting normally result in a pedal that travels down more than normal before you get a hard pedal. I suspect that you either have an air pack problem or a lack of air pressure going to the air pack. The...
