That's EXACTLY what I wanted to build for my M109 motorhome conversion. Was that 'stock' (as in - for/from the military)? Do you think you could take a few more pictures for me so I could see how it's laid-out?
I can't believe how many of you guys are saying that it would be unsafe to modify the suspension. How can you make a blanket statement like that?

It's definitely possible to lift your truck AND it can be done safely in any number of ways. What are you trying to get out of it?

Craigslist! I bought a water-damaged slide-in truck camper with nice stainless steel appliances for $200 a few months ago. Cost me another $40 to dump the carcass after I gutted it.
I just drove my M109 back to Bend from northern CA (about 250 miles) and except for the hills, maintained 50+mph the whole way. It topped out at close to 60mph, and seemed happy enough to cruise at 55mph. The engine sounded best at about 2200-2300rpm though, so I settled-in at about 52-53mph for...
I'm building an M109 camper conversion, and one of the things I'm trying to figure out is what I should do for wheels and tires. I'll be towing a 16-18ft enclosed trailer (stretched M353 trailer with an aluminum box) full of dirt bikes and junk. I'm going to be living and working out of this...
I've been getting a lot of dead links. How do you modify them to work?
I've been thinking about wood stoves and wondering whether something could be made safe to use in an RV. Haven't started looking into it very seriously yet though.
Yeah, my Tacoma will be in storage most of the time, but I still need to haul a 16-20ft enclosed trailer because I'm going to be hauling 3-4 dirt bikes and tools and other junk that I need to have with me (because I'm going to be living / working on the road for a while). Thanks for the...
Thanks, I've been looking into putting radiant heating under the laminate flooring I'm planning on installing. I need an inverter anyway, so no extra expense there. I'm considering that more of a secondary heat source though. I'd really like to find one of the stock multi-fuel heaters since I'll...
Can anyone tell me how the hardtop compares to the softtop, as far as the exterior dimensions go? I'm building a cab-over storage box and want to make sure that I leave enough room for a hardtop. I'm mostly concerned about the height at the front edge and the back edge. If anyone could take a...
