Roger. Will up load it in the morning. Its late, and I at last won a game of Carcassonne after playing 1.5 years with my son and wife. Need to rest my mind.
Normally, it is not a failed coil. Its that these things are notable for getting moisture in them, and then they kinda rust up. Mostly easy to correct. If its broke, you can't make it broker.
This is all the info and TM's I can find for the M-715 Truck. Thanks to Ken Del Rio, John Schmidt, Tom's M 715, M 715 Zone and any other place I copied from!
Is this one of the things you sent me? I will try and upload them, but am already started on new years whoopin it up. Such things are done better without the whoop!
I am but a simple Generator Mechanic. I could ask a friend, but I am normally more at home wiping my oily hands on my shirts and cussing at thinks. If you really want to know, tell me. I will try and wake up Obi Wan.
The E/A, (Electric Actuator) is mounted to the IP. The MPU, (Magnetic Pick Up) counts teeth on the flywheel, and when the right RPM is reached, turns the E/A on, it opens up a solenoid to allow fuel to flow into the IP and from there to the engine. When the MPU reaches another speed trip point...
I’m not sure if a fuel leak in the return circuit would cause an engine miss. Sorry for the confusion 🙄
Should not cause a miss. Its in effect, low pressure side of the system. But should be addressed, and its a place for the set to lose fuel. Another way to see if a jug is not firing is to...
Something else you can do.
1. If the K1 is still in the set, Do the same test with the S1 and S7, and mesure with your multimeter at K1-X for 24VDC, while someone else pushes the S5 to the up position. Then do it again with K1.Y, as sometimes the wires get hooked back up wrong. A relay is not...
If the DS7 will not come on and you do not hear a clunk, Turn everything off, and remove the K1 and take it apart. It may be bound up inside. Its not rocket Science.
This kinda narrows it down a bit.
What makes you think the S5 is good? Did you test it? Its rarely a problem.
Try this. Place the S1, (Master switch) in the run position.
Place the S7, (Battle Short switch) in the up position. Push the S5 up, to the on position. Do you get a DS7, (AC...
The -24 TM has several levels of troubleshooting. Look in them all.
Is the set in 60 hertz mode? Do not change the hertz while the set is running. Bad thing can happen.
What position is TB1, (voltage reconnection panel) in?
Kinda sounds like one jug is not firing.
Gen set has 100 hrs on it. Was operating fine, making power. I shut down to adjust fan belt, and change oil. Now seems doesn’t transfer power, power is generated to line side of contactor, transfer panel mounted transfer switch seems fine. Any ideas ? Any problematic known issues?
So, its a...
Hope you had a good holiday. Happy New Year. And thank you for your reply!
I found the terminal board with the 4 wires Back connect the generator set to the static exciter. I checked AC and DC. between the terminals. And each terminal to ground. A couple of times I've got a 2 V read out but...
