ok, so I put you as a named driver, and (then) YOU drive one of ours to the show and enter free!.. just find the air fair..how many drivers do we need? well I have 9 trucks! just a thought
First the gearbox jammed between two gears, the kid fixed that , then later the head gasket blew! so up to the stalls buy a new one and he fixed that for us. One gem he is.
Also the fuel pump failed on another jeep and again (parts kit from the stalls) and Yes..he rebuilt that Item. And we all...
Well busy with house and trucks re-location but here are some pictures I woud have posted from last years event. The Mast has been serviced (by the "nimble helper!" (after bieng stuck with lack of use)). There are still two sections it could raise up , but....no guide ropes in this fixing.
Well I am into another (even older) year and thankfully can still mantain my collection after a house and truck re-location deu the gratefully recieved enthusiastic help from another keen young volunteer., wishing to enjoin everything about the "green disease".
My russian truck KRAZ 255B had a centrifuge filtering system fitted, and they are standard on those trucks. they sound quite effective when you switch off and walk away and (people) standing near hear the centrifuge winding down from high speed. It takes a while.
It has come to our attention recently when servicing 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks for colleagues who are not familliar with or will not service their trucks properly (or at all) that when the wheels and drums are pulled to see whats what on more than two occasions now we found the rivets LOOSE and the...
All the other pictures were on the old photo gallery (how does one getthose..?) but This I found on the new in my gallery , and is a (was) a "quick and imediate) salution untill I found the used parts at reasnable cost. Like a Pump £25. Piping and one way valve £20, Fittings £15. so a really...
start up pressure
Well I had pictures on s.s. But this is not my regular computer, so no photo log. But I used the sump plug. (with a union connector, which is removed for oil changing, then 3/4" bor high pressure oil pie to a Ex-Forktruck hydraulic lift pump. , thence to a one way valve. ...
I have posts relating to my way of dealing with that problem completely. Briefly. (a)From the Sump plug to 24 volt (ex tailgate) lift (or fork truck) hydraulic pump. (B)One way valve. (C) Connector, (iether) straight into the oil filter can, (or (C)) Oil filter gallery. This results in FULL...
I used to use a centrifuge, it was a lot of faffing arround. I now filter through interchangable sock filters. and the result is filtration down to 1 (one!) micron. is that clean enough or what, And it is a lot less fuss and cheaper to set up. Using this method filters 1000 ltrs. in 10 hors...
I allways use (all) the kit supplied. though I have heard of problems with the relief (pressure) valve leaking. However pulling the steering wheel side to side usually settles it. If it is continuously emmiting air regularly...bypass it. as soon as it is all piped up correctly pulling the wheel...
OK here are the pictures as promised. as I suggested adjust iether way, but we do ours on (one ) full lock and adjust power cylinder to (its) maximum. Then go to full lock the other way. (does it reach the "stops"?. OK. if not adjust between the two.
Do note the correct way round for air pipes...
Hmmm.... Well my air cylinders are on the other way round 4 a start. With the air SUPPLY LINE nearest the chassis. and therefore the adjustment easier to make from the front. (and) I check LOCK TO LOCK first. if the adjustment is IN too far (or OUT too far) you will "jam at one lock). Whith the...
Before I fitted air power to my M45 fire truck, it was a horrendous job turning at low speed and parking. (and) especially when fully loaded with water. Now It IS most pleasurable to drive. And you get "the attention" at shows with the <sound effects>!.
When charging the (an) air system you should use the Emergeancy INPUT. this is on the front of vehicles. And is coloured RED. Shoving air into (unkown (or incorrect)) Outputs is not recomended. Try to read and understand the schematic about your trucks air brake circuits. Look for Check (one...
wheel stud problems.
On our fleet we found that the wheel nuts that were lubed did not shear.(ever (wheras)) the wheel nuts that were dry did (ocasionally) shear. just my 1 peneth.
