Fall 2017 Rausch Creek Off Road Park

I not sure you understand why I posted the events at RC for that weekend. This was a SS Rally when myself and another member started it around 2007. One of our trips we picked a busy weekend, IIRC Toys for tots. Was too crowded for a line of 5 tons to pass oncoming Jeeps. Didn't get as much...

    11r22.5

Wow. Thats a lot of $. Junkyard or custom hubs might be cheaper

    11r22.5

This company makes obsolete wheels. They have some that fit the deuce. I was thinking of putting Radials on a couple trailers. http://www.wheelsnowinc.com

    11r22.5

Was wondering how much caster you went with. When I put 11r24.5s on my 5 ton I found that I had a huge amount of toe in. Lined it up with a tape measure and now it drives well except for an occasional wander on rutted roads.

Accepting ideas for accessorizing this dump trailer.

Swap in a junkyard semi trailer axle. Then the trailer and truck will have the same lug pattern. Most are rated at 22k lbs+. Or a M105 axle has a 10k rating. I like the crane idea too

    Simp's Cat 7155 Swap into a M923A1

I've never seen anything with 2 air dryers before! You may have created a ripple in the space time continuum! Just unhook the unloader line from the dryer. There should be no air coming from there until the governor hits cutout pressure. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Simp's Cat 7155 Swap into a M923A1

60 psi is about the secondary cut out pressure. Maybe the valve is installed backwards. When the governor goes bad it usually sticks at 30 psi. Does it stay at 60 when shut down? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

What the diodes on circuit breaker panel for?

They are used on the brake/turn signal circuit for the 7 pin trailer plug. Not sure if that's were your talking about

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

All Caterpillar equipment disconnects the ground side of the batteries. Marine application seems to be the opposite. I put mine on the ground. Proper installation is the key. A poor connection at the disconnect is no different than a poor connection at the starter.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Haha, thats suppose to happen this month! I hope he does get started on it soon, I would like to do just about the same thing.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

The starter will draw the most amps to get moving. Once cranking it will hold a steady amp draw under 150. As posted above the 42mt draws 800 amps max. They rate these starters by torque @ volts @ amps @ rpm. If the starter draws more than the 800a spec, you have another problem and it probably...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I've been using a 1000 amp intermittent switch for 10 years on my trucks without any problems. If your starter draws more than 1000 amps at 24v then you have a problem. The lead post will probably melt! Caterpillar 7N0718 is the part that I use. Keyed but it's the same key for all Cat equipment.

    m816 starting issue

It does prime the fuel. Open valve on intake and pump away. It will suck fuel through the pt pump and filter from the tank. Put a piece of hose on the end and stick it in a bottle, check for bubbles.

    Max egt's on nhc250?

If your screwing with the throttle shaft, you should put a gage on the pump. Listen to Simp. Too expensive to do it wrong. Here's some good info too. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?t=122038 Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
