    Missing Plugs? Is that bad?

By your own statistical evidence, you could assume that it's normal. :-) The plug shown in your images is used to plug the bellhousing durning fording.

    M135 & M35 bed question

The pipeline bed is only 85 inches wide, not including gin pole hangers or roller, which makes it look okay with singles IMHO.....it does leave a 24-inch space right behind the cab for a rear winch or K-boom or something, though. :-)

    Deuce tanker question.

RE: Re: RE: Deuce tanker question. The 1,200 gallon stainless steel tank with acessories weighs about 4,000 lb. The data tag on my M49A2C w/w states 14,970 lb empty.

    Overheating for the third time

Re: RE: Re: RE: Overheating for the third time The high EGT should not effect your coolant temp very much, it is only a momentary condition (hopefully). The cooling system on the multifuel is pretty effective and the 208°F mentioned above ocurred when I was driving a long uphill stretch with a...

    Overheating for the third time

RE: Re: RE: Overheating for the third time Drain and replace the coolant. For all the driving I have done, with heavy loads too, I have never seen the temp exceed 208°F (my highest observed reading). I use a digital thermocouple thermometer for reference at times and the dash gauge agrees with...

    Can't start engine

If you have no exhaust whatsoever, there is no fuel at the injectors. There may be one or more stuck parts within the injection pump, like Greg stated, the fuel shut-off lever (on the IP) or possibly the fuel plunger within the IP hydraulic head. Do a search on this site for a cure for either...

RE: Aerevoe coating Mike and Mike, which paint number and how long before turning pink or gray. My Aervoe 997B still matches fresh paint after 14 months of outdoor exposure..... Thanks for sharing, John.

    Fuel leak injector lines

RE: Re: RE: Fuel leak injector lines Yeah, but they can be used in the same location over and over, it's when the lines are moved to a different hydraulic head when you may encounter a problem. I say may, since they may also work, but I wouldn't count on it.

    Fuel leak injector lines

As you know from earlier threads on this topic, ferrules are used on the steel lines and proper alignment is critical when installing them. Using used lines is really out of the question since the ferrules dig into the lines and conform to the cavity when tightened. Bottom line, install new...

    Drycleaning solvent

Kenny, keep in mind that methanol is a poison, some people may even have a reaction from skin contact and don't ingest it! Keep it away from your kids!!! It is an excellent cleaner, just finished a couple of old "scraper" type primary fuel filters, it took the old gummed up fuel residue right...

    Internal/external tooth washer

RE: washers Right Wayne, and with the help from Will Wagner, Kenny, ACE and others, I ended up with a pile of them. :-) To be truly paint penetrating, they need to be hardened and cad-plating seems to last longer than zinc, so mil-spec it is....

    winterization kit instructions?

On the deuce, the batteries are moved to the space below the companion seat when the winterization kit is installed. The coolant heater and the fuel pump occupy the battery compartment.

    Auto transmission question

Re: RE: Auto transmission question Yes, you should, I know everything......yeah right. :) Anyhow, I asked my friendly neighborhood transmission expert and was told that it is normal. "Just start it and run it through th gears and the level will drop". Did so, and it's back to normal. You...

    Auto transmission question

To be on the safe side, I thought I'd ask... Drained the automatic transmission yesterday (xm757 Allison), replaced the filter element and refilled with the same amount of fluid, 5 gallons. My question relates to the "Safe to start" level, before draining, the level was right on the mark, but...

    Shear pins for the winch

I did post the alloy some time ago, but "search" doesn't help me here. I had found the alloy except for the temper (T3, T4 etc).... Found this after a lot of searching: http://steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=16075&highlight= ...... the alloy for the 260 series 5-ton...
