I might be able to get an A3 bed to put on my A2, is the mounting hardware different or do they drop right on? I know they have the marker lights that the A2's don't, and I think they have tie-downs as well. Are there any other differences? Will the ribs and seats from an A2 fit?
I got a porta power, I'm saving up for a welder. I've already got 220v to the garage. It would be easier to just replace the bed, but the wife likes to have money for paying bills, utilities and other nonsense. But thanks for the offer! 'Course I could always take the deuce down to the...
Does anyone know if the rectangular tubing on the deuce bed is a stock size? I have a couple of rust spots that probably need to be cut out. If I can just cut out the cancer and weld it a new piece it shouldn't be too bad as far as the rust. I also have to fix some damage to the back of the...
Finally conned the old lady into taking a ride in the deuce. Just did a quarter mile loop out back by the woods. She had not been very receptive about the new aquisition, but since I've been working hard on finishing the patio this week she humored me. Hit a few bumps and the back end got to...
I've thought about getting some kind of cargo netting like they put over military pallets on cargo planes or getting some 1" webbing fabbed up. I'd mount it so it covers the opening you get when you fold the seats down, that would keep little kids from falling out. A piece on the end with...
Seems like the heat is expanding a connection just enough to break a contact, might just need to bend something in the switch for a positive contact after the switch gets warm. I don't think it would be dirt or corrosion if it regularly lit up when cold.
What kind of tires are those and how do they handle? (If you've had it out on the road) Are you running them as singles or do you just have the inner rims on for the refurbish?
Your wood cribbing would be okay, you just need to not have so much wood over hanging (Less likely to have something catch and make your cribbing unstable) and keep the jacks just inside of the outer edges. I keep any treated 4x4's 12"s or longer for blocking, and I try to have a dozen or so...
Hey Valence, what did you use to patch up your cover? I have one that has several smaller holes and one 4" tear on the front side that I have to fix as well as new rope. Mine has the camo design.
If you don't know much about injectors, you're better off taking them to a good diesel shop that can do it for you. But I would try all the other suggestions first, especially since you don't have alot of smoke (suggesting a problem with the combustion of fuel)
What's your exhaust look like? Is there a lot of smoke, and what color is it? I'd also check to see if your brakes are binding. You might want to check your injectors as well.
