Ditto. Also, there should not be any screws to remove to lift the floormat. However, be very careful as it is very easy to rip the rubber mat, especially if it is cold. If you spill it under the mat, it is a real mess to clean up. Also, make sure the transmission is thoroughly warmed up and...
This is off-topic from the original post, but it sounds like your check valve on the top of the tank is plugged up, which is a very common problem with A3s. After changing the fuel filter, the A3 should fire right back up without difficulty if everything is clean.
I found some D-2 Bendix at that price, but they were either re-manufactured or had the incorrect pressure ranges. However, I didn't try Truck Pro. I would have liked the $20.00 price better!
Can you see any damage on the injector itself? If you heard a 'pop', it sounds like something let go in the injector allowing gas to escape and the leak is not past the threads. Are the threads intact?
The Bendix D-2 compressor unloader seems to be a common item to fail on M35A3s with the Cat 3116 engine. I replaced mine several months ago and I've received a lot of questions from other A3 owners about replacing a failed unloader. The symptoms on my A3 was that the compressor did not...
I have never had a problem with my selector switch sticking, but what you remember, sounds like it might be reasonable. Have you tried searching on the Smokstak forum?
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! You've come to the right place for answers, but as mentioned above, you need to repost the question in the CUCV forum with a good title. However, first you should use the advanced search function and see if your question has already been asked.
Tony, that is a very nice looking quarter-ton. Good luck with it. They are fairly reliable. The handling issue involves cornering and the independent rear suspension. they will flip fairly easily, but are fine if driven accordingly. The ambulance model was even more prone to flip due to the...
This should be in the deuce forum since you are talking about an M35A2 and not a larger truck.
The answer is simple. You simply crank the flat tire/wheel back up into the rack that held the spare you cranked down. There is no need to try to get the wheel up into the bed of the truck. Don't...
I'm glad you have solved the problem. Cleaning the check valve should be SOP for A3s. Mine even looked like it had some hair or fibrous material mixed in with the gunk.
I actually experienced the same thing as you. I came to the conclusion that this was caused by a temporary increase in fuel flow. The fuel filter on an A3 is mounted upside down, preventing pre-filling the filter. This is probably a good thing as it keeps people from pre-filling the filter...
I would be more likely to believe the Hobbs with higher hours than with low hours. I've seen a lot of units with very low hours, that look like they have been used and abused for years. I've also seen units with a fairly high number of hours that look almost new.
You need to listen to everyone. Wear hearing protection when driving the deuce, even for short distances and for low speeds. You don't realize it, but you are injuring yourself. I put my earplugs in before I start the engine.
People have discovered how great those MEP-003A units are, and the prices have gone up accordingly. That being said, some of the good looking units at GL aren't so good if you go check them out before bidding. I would definitley preview befor bidding. I previewed almost 40 MEP-003A gensets...
