MEP 002A -- Failure to Shut Down Properly

Also common is for the solenoid to not move the lever to the on position if the linkage is dirty. If the genset ever fails to start within a reasonable time, make sure the linkage isn't keeping the fuel shut off.

    m35a3 air diagram?

Unfortunately, the CTIS system gets blamed for a lot of problems caused by other systems. It is actually an amazingly simple system once you start looking at the different components internally.

M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

Driving the truck between flushes is required, not only to heat up the fluid, but also because there are actuators in the transmission that will have motor oil trapped in them. Although the engine is running, turning the torque converter and the transmission pump is running, the trapped motor...

M35A3 - Trans Fluid Flush Question & other Filter Maintenance

The transmission holds about 21 quarts. I would recommend using the Dexron III and not TranSynd because of the price. TranSynd is very expensive. it is better, but only as far as extending the fluid change intervals. If you want to use TranSynd, I have a new 5 gallon pail for cheap so PM...

    m35a3 air diagram?

Are you sure it's the CTIS manifold blowing the air and not the dryer or the relief valve? I thought the same thing, but it turned out to be a faulty air dryer blowing the air, along with the emergency relief valve. I found a complete replacement NOS dryer unit on Ebay for a very good price...

    m35a3 air diagram?

There are several diagrams of the pneumatic system for the A3 in the TMs. They are very confusing to follow, however. I found that using different colored highlighters for the different circuits really makes it easier to follow and understand. Look in the TMs under brake system, compressor...

    A3 alt brackets..

Terry McClanahan with American Outfitters already makes an upgraded alternator bracket for the A3. I've never seen one, however. I've never had a problem on my A3, but apparently problems with the alternator brackets on A3s are quite common.

    MEP-002A Hidden battery "jumper" cable

I see the adapters all over the place. I bought two for $10 apiece at the GA Rally and there were a lot more available from several vendors. Epay always has some listed and occasionally for a good price.

    Cold start up M35A2 Video

My 69 Kaiser always starts without issues down to the teens. Below that I use 1 - 2 shots of ether and no problem. I quit using a block heater because it starts fine without one.

    m35a2 fuel mileage

I get about 10-12 mpg on my stock A2 and about 8 - 10 on my A3, running straight diesel. I never exceed 52 mph with either and I don't accelerate hard. Easy driving will make a big difference. I live in the mountains.

    New from Brazil

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! You came to the right place. This forum is loaded with good information and great people. I would start by downloading the TMs for the M35A1 and reading the posts in the Deuce forum.

    MEP-003A Saved the Day

Well, my MEP-003A is saving the day again. We've been without power from Blue Ridge Mountain EMC for about 3 hours now due to a storm that went through. It's currently snowing, temperature is about 29, and the wife is very happy that she is cooking, oven is on, HVAC is running, TV on, well is...

    M35A3 Owners unite

I re-read Patriot's post and I think my post on using the tractor with the forks was mis-understood. When disassembling an A3 wheel and removing the tire, it is very easy if you have a fork truck available, or as in my case, a tractor with forks. You can press down on the tire with the forks...

Non "Made In China" parts list.

About five years ago, I helped set up a manufacturing plant in China for the company I worked for. One of my tasks was to purchase a very large assortment of hand tools for use in the factory. I was given a mandate by the Chinese management in the plant that I was to only procure tools made in...

Non "Made In China" parts list.

I agree - not everything made in China is bad. However, I prefer to use NOS parts or new U.S. manufactured parts to support American manufactured parts. Otherwise everything will be imported.

    CTIS question

The whole CTIS system is very simple. Unless the diaphragm us ruptured, there is no reason to replace a wheel valve. The wheel valves normally only malfunction if the CTIS seals in the axle have failed and let differential lube enter them from the hollow stud. They are extremely easy to...

Needed - Thermo Power Unit MEP-003a

The shutters on my MEP-003A genset never open unless the load is significant. In 50 deg weather, I don't think mine would ever open. However, when the load is high in hot weather they open fine. If you need one, Delks is another source. http://www.delksarmynavysurplus.com
