A fellow SS (Ron) just sent this pic to my email. Thanks Ron!!!! Looking at the tire mounted really has me doubling thinking my choice now. Really looks different when comparing an idea vs reality. Back to the ole drawing boards:-)
Hi Gimp, I thought about putting the spare in the van, in a trailer, on the roof. But I keep going back to the rear mounted idea. It probably is alot of work, that's what makes it so appealing:-). No mystery machine...LOL, winch is in the way:-)
Hello gentlemen, I am planning on moving my spare tire to the rear of my M109A3 to make room for an aux fuel tank. I remembering seeing a pic or two of this on SS deuces. Does anyone have a pic or even better, how you did it? I've got a couple ideas. My first idea is to set up the spare tire...
Great idea! You should put this in your mini rally thread Scott to let all the PNW'ers know. Guys coming in here are reading about the rebuild and will miss the opportunity for this event.
Hi Scott, you can put a green radio on your transfer case cowl. Probably need to build a bracket to hold the MT-1029 radio mount though. The VIC-1 is pretty awesome. It allows you to converse simultaneously. In other words you don't have to wait for the other party to release the talk button...
Thanks. I will definately be tying those antennas down during a move. The kit came with everything down to the tie rope and antenna end ball. I'm going to add a few more antennas for CB/weather radio, civilian HAM radio, and another AB-15. I still need to figure out where to add my...
more. Looking at the pics...I think I went a little overboard on the warning decals....:-0
I'm hoping to tackle the aux fuel tank next. I'm trying to figure out how I am going to fabricate a bracket for the spare tire winch. My plan is to mount it in the rear b/w the pintle and rear axle...
Been working some serious OT so I haven't been able to work on G&C. Today I set out with a list and was able to finish most of it.
I ordered 3 sets of AS-1729 (including the MX-6707) antenna's off ebay. It only took 5 days from Israel to my doorstep...OUTSTANDING. Today I was able to get two...
Understanding that the pic was taken at the factory, one can imagine the bright lighting they have on the factory floor. Looking at the pics you can see the intense lights that can add the appearance of a light color on anything in it's light path. I'm thinking it's the lighting coupled with the...
I'm using USGI components in my M109A3. I am using the VIC-1 Intercom system for in vehicle comms and USGI RT-524a/VRC and RT-246a/VRC for vehicle to vehicle comms
I just have to say something. One thing that really caught my eye was your positive attitude. First and foremost I compliment you on that! Next is you'll need this shining positive attitude when dealing with GL. Now this is the extreme of what I have seen with GL but hey, if you can deal...
