VIC-1 and radios
Yesterday I finally got the last few items needed to complete my military radio/intercom system in the cab of the truck. I added the MT-1898 for the R-442a/VRC tonight. I also tested each VIC-1 station for operational status. Everything is good to go. I have a total of 3 VIC-1...
Thanks Tim. I attempted to take her out today. I was about 3 miles out and noticed the temp gauge was pegged:-o. I immediately turned her around...couldn't get home fast enough. I popped the hood, everything looked good. No leaks or burning smell. I think I lost my thermostat. I figure if...
I didn't put any. From what I've been told. The military filled that entire cavity with grease for field storage. In other words, if you were out in the field and needed to repack your bearings, the grease was right there for your use.
Hey Josh, I did see that IT left his 5 ton at Brads but IT was nowhere to be found. IT didn't show up to the rally though. I've never met this IT. haha, good stuff? I don't remember what I nabbed....gees I guess I've been out there too many times.;)
Well, I've been to all the mini rallies and two PNW convoys and never rubbed elbows with IT that I know of. Never noticed any of his vehicles showing up either. The the suspense is growing:-)
No not a fan, in fact IT has never showed up to any of the SS functions so we're pretty safe. Also IT hasn't been into this forum for awhile. Thanks for the heads up RW. Definately don't need this kind of company within the ranks.
The Strykers at the event were based out of JBLM. They drove them in and drove them out. The pics I listed show them putting "OVERSIZE LOAD" banners on the rear. It was amazing to hear how quite they were. Definately much quieter than our Multifuels. Heck our air horn was even louder. I can...
Definately was a good time to first and foremost support our troops and their families. Put a call out to support my fellow brothers and sisters in arms and I will be there. We should make it to events like this more frequent. Any more coming up?
Our fellow SS popacom or tbanks has the complete 4 station setup. Just PM them. I pieced mine together using ebay. I like the VIC-1 so much, I've got 3 setups going into my trucks along with green radios.
I like my VIC-1 set up in the deuce. I like the fact you don't have to wait for the other person to release the talk button on the mic. Have you used the VIC-1 while driving? Mine is clear as day and easy to operate. Plus I like how the entire VIC-1 interfaces with the VRC-12 military radios...
