If the smoke is black it is fuel and you likely have no serious problem. As stated previously, the purpose of adding the turbo was to decrease the amount of smoke. Many deuce owners like to see the smoke. Forget it and enjoy your truck. :D
Take a video of the Deuce smoking. All Deuces smoke. You need to tell us the color of the smoke. A multifuel is not like a car or pickup that doesn't smoke unless something is wrong. Also, have you been letting it idle for long periods or been driving slow? Drive it at highway speed for 10...
I know - my headlight was out and I bought a new headlight. I turned it on and it flashed real bright and went out and blackened the bottom of the glass. Air must have leaked in. I've sent an e-mail to the supplier for a replacement.
Welcome to Steel Soldiers and good luck with your truck. The key is the VIN (serial number) and registration numbers. Do you know if the truck is U.S. Army or U.S. Air Force? Just because it came from an Air Force Base doesn't necessarily mean it is Air Force. Are any of the military...
I drove my M35A3, pulling my M149A2 water buffalo, in the Georgia Mountain Fair Parade in Hiawassee, Georgia last Saturday. Jimma's father Jim Reece drove his M35A2 as well. We had a great time, but it was very very hot. My A3 had the top removed and the sun was really beating down on us...
M37s have a timing chain and any vehicle with a timing chain can skip a tooth if the chain or sprockets are worn. I have had this happen on two different vehicles. It's easy enough to check and eliminates one possibility. You said you had spark, so that eliminates everything in the ignition...
I think you may bemistaken about 1553 or 1551 being the external transmission filter. I use a NAPA 1268 on my Allison, which is the same number as the one I removed that the Army had installed. I believe 1553 and 1551 have a different threat pattern or at least that is what the NAPA dealer...
We had an M35 when I was in the Army that had no doors. It was a parts truck that someone got running and the doors and a lot of other stuff had been robbed. I never drove it, but I rode in it once. No seat belts and it felt like you were about to fall out everytime you went around a curve...
Start with the basics.
1. Confirm correct valve timing
2. Confirm correct ignition timing
3. Spray starter fluid or gasoline into throat of carburetor while cranking
If 1 - 2 are correct, the engine will run if it has fuel. If it runs after #3, you have a fuel problem. Then confirm that...
