Check the classifieds on SS first. Some people have taken out the CTIS systems and have been selling the parts. There have also been many for sale in the past on Ebay.
Did the shop test and prove that the generator head actually needs to be rewound? I would make certain that the only problem is the head before spending the money. It would be bad to pay $1,000.00 for a re-wind and find that you still have the same problem. Or, that the original problem is...
I read somewhere in a post, or perhaps someone told me, that the reason C&M sets the highway pressure maximum at 45 psi is due to the axle seals. Apparently, axle seal life is shortened at higher pressures. I also read in the TM that in extreme cold they recommend not using the CTIS until some...
I'm not sure if the A2 already has a pressure relief valve or not. The TMs should say. If not, the one designed for the A3 should work, but you would need to change fittings.
I have had minimal problems with my MEP-003A, mostly some loose wires. I have used my genset fairly often since I got it and it has proven to be very reliable. Since I have had minimal problems, I don't have a lot of experience with the MEP-003A other than preventive maintenance. In my...
There have been several posts on SS about the 60 PSI pressure limit for the A3 wheels. In addition, it is stamped on the wheels themselves as a warning. The limit is due to the O-rings and valve stem grommets. I apologize for the poor quality of the attached photo but I used my cell phone in...
I won a Delta Model 34-806 table saw from GL at Holloman AFB. Although an older model, the saw is in almost new condition and is equipped with a 5 HP 3 phase motor. As received, the motor was wired for 440 VAC 3 Ph. I rewired the motor (10 minutes) for 230 VAC 3 Ph. Since I don't have 3...
I found mine on E-bay. They appear to be present on E-bay almost continuously from several sellers. I think I paid $7.00 for mine, plus postage. A good price if the alternative is a potential explosion. I added some photos.
I finally got around to installing the 4820-01-490-1773 pressure safety relief valve on my M35A3 compressor. The installation is covered by MWO 9-2320-386-20-2. All M35A3s were required to have this kit installed prior to 30AUG05, but for some reason my truck did not have the kit installed...
If anyone needs MWO 9-2320-386-20-1 for the A3, send me a PM and I'll send it. This is the work order on how to install the air pressure relief valve on the air compressor.
Don't give up on your old tanks! Many radiator shops will repair fuel tanks for a reasonable fee. If most of the tank is still in good condition, get it repaired.
I just had a miscellaneous equipment pickup handled for me at Holloman AFB in New Mexico. I turned it over to the Shipping Store in Alamogordo, NM ( 575-437-7447) who picked the shipment up, palletized it, wrapped it and shipped it to me via LTL. Joe Ferguson handled everything. They did an...
I have several places around me that do that kind of work. I have had tires on my A2 (900 X 20) and my A3 dismounted repaired, and remounted for very inexpensive prices. It is absolutely not worth the risk of injury or the substantial sweat and sore muscles to do it yourself. I broke down one...
Welcome to the Steel Soldiers three step process! The first step was joining SS. The second step is to get an MV. The third step is to bring it to the GA Rally.
