I have the MERDC on my '88 M35A2C as well. I'm still scratching my head on why it has that color scheme as that was in the era of 3 color NATO

Some of the Vietnam era gun trucks had the white shackles and different assortment of colors on them.

The paint scheme you are looking at is called MERDC. Here is a link of some examples. There are two pages to view. It looks like they used black stencilling MERDC Photos (merdccamo)

You do not need a radio for the VIC-1 system. If you would like to use your radio through the VIC-1 then you do need to hook a CX-4723 cable b/w your mount and the AM-1780 intercom box

What kind of radio are you using? Are you using a VRC-12 based radio? (RT-524, RT-246, PRC field radio) I do have a suggestion on your setup. I'd incorporate a suppressor of some type to your system. The voltage flucuations from your truck could ruin your VIC-1 and radios. The MX-7777 type...

Have you thought about 385's? The biggest you can go are 385's (46") without any mods on a deuce. Even with these tires up front, you may get some rubbing on your J-pipe. Plus you'll need to ditch your spare tire as well.
