Only way to speed up a turbo it to increase the exh gas flow or speed it up. Remember, the exhaust drives the intake. You can decrease the size of the exhaust ports, That'll do it. There used to be a company that made a tube type exhaust manifold for the 855s. They put a restrictor in the port...
If I put too much gas...er...petrol, in mine, it takes 3-4 seconds longer to start and lopes at hot idle. What does it idle at? An idle that is too low can make it hard to start, also, check to make sure the shut off cable is letting the lever in the pump return all the way to the start...
I would think, as long as the engine is a multi, it should be the same. There are two, the Leece Neville 3002AC, D and E, and the AMA5102UT that work on the multis with alternators.
Alot of the trucks I looked at while I was at Barstow had that coating in the engine compartment, under the fenders and steps if they had deopt overhauls. It's tough to get off of a surface that it's put on.
Try Dave Walker in Hesperia, Ca....760-244-8060. Or, PM me a number I can call you at on Saturday. I think there's some at the Fontana yard. A few of us will be going there and we can check.
Sinister, garp is right. If you have been idling it or just putting around these things will slobber oil out the exhaust. It drips out the joints and out the back of the turbo. Get it out on the high way and run it for a bit. If you can find a load to put in it, do it and drive it at high way...
RE: This can
The head gaskets are fairly easy. Have fun! Just make sure you get the late style gaskets. They are one piece and have permaseal around the oil and coolant passages.
RE: Re: RE: Diesel Emissions Test
Opacity testing has nothing to do with the condition of the cylinders. You can have an engine that is worn out, and it will still pass on opacity. An opacity meter won't measure white or blue smoke. The only thing that it will measure is soot colored...
OK, you all know I am a desert paint wierdo. But, I came across one on one of the GL sales. Never seen one quite like it. I kinda like it! Anyone seen one like it b-4?
You could notch the bumper then angle it back like the cranetruck. I know, it wouldn't be original, but you'd have a smaller issue with a shadow and less of a chance of catching the bumper on something while backing or turning.
Bjorn, Did you ever come up with anything on your knock? Sorry, didn't mean to jack the thread. I agree with Bjorn. No need to do a 2nd oil change. Just put a few miles on it and check the oil level.
NO, don't pry on the damper...unless you like broken camshafts. Get yourself a 3/4 drive ratchet, a 1 1/8 or 1 5/16 socket...depending on what it's built with. The engines used in the military trucks were a hodgepodge of stuff, some old style, some new style. and try to bar it over by the...
Yup, the original, multi piece haedgasket is junk and designed to fail...no grommets at the oil and coolant passages. As for the power pant, I'd like to think...as stated before a very long thread a few days ago..a Cummins K model..1150 cubic inches of raw HP...I forget how to power the front...
