Just curious, are all the legs the same for the ring support? It looks like they may all be different from each other.

As stated by the two previous and wise MV owners:wink:, I would stick with DOT-5 Scott. DOT % is hydrophobic whereas DOT-3 is hydrophilic. Living in the PNW it is best to stick with DOT-5.

You need a Ham license to transmit on the RT-524 (receiver and transmitter). The R-442 (R=receiver)is just a receiver only. The family of radios you are looking for are known in the VRC-12 family. Do a search and you'll find all kinds of goodies.
