I couldn't agree with you more!!!!!! It is the lack of this very principle that has the US in the pickle we're into today. The old "get it now, pay for it later" just keeps going on and on and on and on. Ok I'm done:wink:
Around the Olympia/Centralia area mostly. Looking at about 120 miles. Here's the link to the 2009 event:

Ah, your truck doesn't look all that bad. It actually looks good to me. Looks like the stack guard was mounted a bit too high. Don't burn your hands:-0 Where are you located? Be sure to join our 2010 PNW Convoy in July!
Hmm, not sure what would make that sound. Could it be a plugged injector? Referring to the video, what would make the truck have that sound at the 18 second mark? Lugging?
Pull some brake fluid out of the MC and put into a little container, add a couple drops of water, shake the heck out of it, let stand for 5 minutes. If the water separates and does NOT mix with the brake fluid then you have DOT-5 (silicone based) brake fluid. However, if the water mixes then...
Bring plent of GL-1 gear oil with you as well. Most of those trucks were put out to pasture long before they came up for auction. They are probably the roughest deuces I have seen at FT Lewis. Most have not been ran for sometime.
no, you cannot do a visual on the wc w/out pulling the drum. If it's leaking brake fluid you'll know:wink: Be sure to check to see what kind of brake fluid you have in there. More than likely it is DOT-5 but verify by doing a water test with it. Don't assume it is DOT 5 or DOT 3
Good luck to you:wink: Those trucks cycled through FT Lewis GL about 4-6 months ago. Most were in pretty sad shape. Be sure to check everything over really well. Most of the trucks didn't have brake pressure and had leaky wheel cylinders. He does have one without a turbo that smoked pretty bad...
Just confirmed the Demil code change today with GL:-) He said they are also working to eliminate this problem in the future. Seems to be a computer glitch of sorts causing this problem.
My '88 M35A2C started it's like as a USAF truck but ended it's service as a USA truck. I can still make out the US Air Force on the doors of the truck. The Army simply rattle canned over the markings.
Yah, looks like we're fixin' to have similiar conditions here once again. It has been raining all day (no surprise here) but it has really been coming down. Aberdeen is bracing for some serious flooding at noon today. High winds, high tide, and a ton of rain will make for a very soggy day.
