RE: More pictures. 1968
Contact this magazine, you should have enough pictures for an article, IMHO.

The instrument panel is about to be re-installed on the 757 and my question is, is it a good idea to lube the tach cable at this time? If so, what lubricant?
TIA

Speeding up the front wheels would also help in turning in slippery conditions. Thought about using larger front tires for that reason a long time ago....
This is the hook-up with the fuel density compensator bypassed.
Note that plugs may be used instead of loops of fuel line. The loops are used so that existing fittings can be reused.
Just don't let any fuel enter the FDC.
The hydraulic head is installed with two large O-rings, not sure how they would effect the fuel-in-crankcase problem, but replacing them can be done "in the field".
Image from Jason's and my hydraulic head replacement operation at a Flying J T-stop in Joplin, MO last year.

RE: 800 series air filter #
I have a filter element from an M543, which may or may not be the same, but it's made by Donaldson and has the following dims and number:
Dia= 11-3/4
Length = 14
Hole dia= 6 inches
Number 19207-7737491
Many multies have their FDC bypassed in the military and if the fuel isn't "turned down", they are no longer "idiot proof".
Question, is there a work order (MVO?) of some kind that specifies this procedure?
I believe the heating element creates its own circulation by convection. Some external models have a built-in check valve to assure that the coolant flows in a specific direction as it is heated.
Here is the back side of a one gallon jug for Carquest "Premium Tractor Hydraulic Fluid".
The only question that remains (for me anyway) on this subject is if in fact Allison specification Type C3 superseeds Type C2, which is specified in the '68 TM.

Patrick, in one short sentence, would you mind stating the problems/issues you have with the power generating system, specifically, so that a solution can be found that makes sense?
Going from distorted waveforms to stacking equipment on a trailer is what gets a bit hard to sort...
My longest road trip in a deuce lasted 6 weeks and covered some 6,000 miles.
The main thing is not to have a deadline, take your time. I would also add that weather may be a factor.
I'm very comfortable in the truck, used ear plugs mostly, VIC-1 headsets are not a problem for me. Slept in the...
Your engine should start easily down to 10°F without any aids. Below that a properly operating flame heater (intake manifold heater) should enable you to start the vehicle. If it's really cold, a coolant and oil pan heater is needed (arctic kit) as well.
Ether can be used in small dosages while...
