The instrument panel is about to be re-installed on the 757 and my question is, is it a good idea to lube the tach cable at this time? If so, what lubricant? TIA

Kenny (Recovry4x4) can tell you all about it, he has a similar situation on his m275. The torque rods keep the axles aligned and are important.

That's the torque rod Mark. It will have to be replaced. Saw one on ebay a couple of weeks ago, about $20 plus shipping.

This is the hook-up with the fuel density compensator bypassed. Note that plugs may be used instead of loops of fuel line. The loops are used so that existing fittings can be reused. Just don't let any fuel enter the FDC.

The hydraulic head is installed with two large O-rings, not sure how they would effect the fuel-in-crankcase problem, but replacing them can be done "in the field". Image from Jason's and my hydraulic head replacement operation at a Flying J T-stop in Joplin, MO last year. There is an IP gasket...

RE: 800 series air filter # I have a filter element from an M543, which may or may not be the same, but it's made by Donaldson and has the following dims and number: Dia= 11-3/4 Length = 14 Hole dia= 6 inches Number 19207-7737491

Many multies have their FDC bypassed in the military and if the fuel isn't "turned down", they are no longer "idiot proof". Question, is there a work order (MVO?) of some kind that specifies this procedure?

I believe the heating element creates its own circulation by convection. Some external models have a built-in check valve to assure that the coolant flows in a specific direction as it is heated.
