I would be sorry to see the Patton Museum move from Fort Knox, although Benning is much closer to where I live. I took Basic at Knox (D-17-5) in 1970, followed by AIT at Fort Knox (D-5R-2), where I received my 11-Delta MOS and there are a lot of memories from that time. For AIT I was in the...
No matter what I'm bidding on, I always print out the complete GL ad, including all photos. I have never had a problem, but I have been present a couple of times when others were having arguments with the GL rep about what they were being told was their lot.
Ditto on the air in the fuel lines. It might also be a faulty in-tank fuel pump? I had a Deuce do this when in the Army. It was much worse than what you are describing. It surged constantly, even when being driven. The motor pool repaired it very quickly, but I don't remember what was wrong.
If you change your mind about the color, I have a new NOS tan one that I will part with cheap. Send a PM if interested. Another source for new tops is GMA.
Ditto for everything stated above. The MEP-003A gensets are great. I got mine at a GL auction at Ft Jackson, mounted on an M116A2 trailer. I did not inspect prior to the auction, but I highly recommend doing so. I got lucky in that my genset runs and performs perfectly and looks almost new...
I have a TM that I would like to upload to the Resources Section, but I get the message that I am not not authorized for that function. What am I doing wrong?
I now have a complete copy of the M-30D36R Wisconsin Robin 3KW GenSet T.O. 35C2-3-499-1 Technical Manual, dated 15MAY1990, thanks to Baldor. Andrew Spencer at Baldor went way beyond good customer service. Baldor purchased T&J Manufacturing, the company that originally manufactured this GenSet...
Arnold,
It is not that common for bearings to go bad in differentials that are in a vehicle that is not being used, unless perhaps water has gotten inside the differential housings, and even in this case I am surprised. I have had many vehicles that have not been driven for 20 - 30 years and...
I have State Farm insurance on my 1969 Kaiser Jeep. When I got the insurance, they didn't even ask the manufacturers name. I simply told them it was a 1969 M35A2 and gave them the weight and bed type. They contacted the regional office for a quote and I didn't tell them the manufacturer until...
One advantage of rebuilding the transmission is that you will know the condition of the transmission when you finish. Getting a used transmission is like buying a 'pig in a poke' so to speak. With so many of those Allison transmissions around (same model?) I can't believe the cost of the...
A little off-topic, but I once saw a Japanese military three-cylinder diesel GenSet from WWII that started with explosive cartridges like a shotgun shell. There was a separate chamber with a piston that rotated the crankshaft about one revolution. This was also a direct injected diesel and did...
I have a customer, a paper mill in Alabama, that got nailed for using off-road diesel a few years ago. They had an F-250 which was used exclusively on mill property. Didn't even have a tag. They rooutinely drove it out the front gate and approximately 1/4 mile to fill it with off-road when...
I believe you have master cylinder problems. Either the fluid is leaking past the MC piston or the spring is broken. Another thought is to make sure the MC vent is not plugged up.
