What did you do to your deuce this week?

Sanded some panels down, hitting the rust again and buffing the gouges tomorrow, then paint. Gotta love rain days

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Found the transfer case and transmission under the dirt and grossness from who knows how long, more importantly got to be soldier B while the ol lady whooped my bee hind as soldier A. First of my many projects she's taken interest in. Couldn't do it without you guys, huge thank you.

MV of the month April 2024

    Deuce clutch adjustment

So far I've found this bar measures 14in centerline to centerline, supposed to be 14 3/4. Right around an inch and a half of pedal travel, pedal is set to maximum height through the floor. The orange line looks backwards to me according to the TM, maybe I just read it wrong. Onward we go.

    Deuce clutch adjustment

I'm having the same problem, thought it was in the shifter shaft, took advice from @gringeltaube and drew the conclusion it wasn't. If nobody minds a little thread resurrection/hijacking I'm knee deep in going in through the top. So far aside from pedal play, measurements check out but I can't...

    Spicer 3053 Shifter Shaft Cover

Return from center, I didn't know it was supposed to stay when tilted towards the passenger side. They (synchros) shouldn't be but who knows. Can't diagnose anything properly with the clutch dragging and out of adjustment though, and putting what's happening with what you explained equals the...

    Spicer 3053 Shifter Shaft Cover

Dyslexia strikes again. Google says Eaton, TM says Spicer, data tag says 3053, I'm sure more corrections will be necessary. Firstly there's what seems to me to be too much slop in the shifter, and when shifting from 3 to 4, well simply put it doesn't want to. Grinds terribly, just feels like...

    Spicer 3053 Shifter Shaft Cover

So what started as a wiring job ended as three jobs, which I'll be documenting as I go. This one is to fix a shifting issue which is still unknown between the shifter shaft, the 4-5 shift lever, and probably the clutch. Starting here I'm using TM 9-2520-246-34-1 as reference and hoping for the...

Fuel lift pump on auxiliary switch

My lift pump hasn't worked since I got the truck, not sure why yet, but my guess is it's something to do with the keyed ignition wiring. My plan is to take wire 76 off of where it usually gets power and move it to my switch panel, giving me true control of the pump. If I find my pump is...

    Multifuel camshaft timing

"Knowing" one cylinder had low compression, and two cylinders had bad rings, I'd say it's time for a compression test. If ever you're told one cylinder is leaking/low, check them all..... Cheap insurance. Once you have those numbers, a more accurate "guess" can be made. As for the valve lash...

LMTV A0 cat 3116 loss of power

To answer the until red flows, yes, but if it were me, I'd drain the tank completely and either "strain" the fuel, or dispose of it and start with fresh. Can't be coolant in the system if the system is empty.

    Air Compressor/Opinions Please

"Stupid" idea, how hard/expensive would it be to set up a small compressor and air tank system like what's on the M series trucks? I can attest, it's nice having 90-120 psi on demand, just not familiar enough with the HMMWV to know if there's room under the hood and such......yet 😉

    Air Compressor/Opinions Please

In my world "oilless" translates to "disposable", may just be me. After seeing that and reading the three star and lower reviews, I would say it's a pretty expensive gamble, especially pulling 90 amps, unless someone wrote the review for the wrong product.

    Piston

https://maintenanceprocedures.tpub.com/TM-9-2815-210-34-2-1/TM-9-2815-210-34-2-10023.htm https://maintenanceprocedures.tpub.com/TM-9-2815-210-34-2-1/TM-9-2815-210-34-2-10024.htm These don't answer all the questions, but now we know the differences in injection timing, if we didn't already.

    Piston

Ok..... I'm back from the rabbit hole. 37 pages later, and now we know for sure, the answer is yes, you can put LDS pistons in an LDT engine. You should put LDS pistons in an LDT engine because they are the same, or at least after a certain point they were the same. Same cam, crank, everything...

To blast or not .. and then what. Professional advice sought

I wondered about that stuff forever, just waaay to skeptical to try it 😆. Definitely going to pick some up now knowing it works.

    Polaris MRZR-D4

https://www.polaris.com/en-us/shop/off-road/maintenance/service-manuals/9927276/?pfm=search I'm sure they'll sell you whatever year you need, this is just what I found first, unless from 2017 on they're all the same, I don't know enough about them. Hope it helps

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

Any update on this? Sorry to pester you about it, super curious to see if it was the injectors after all.

MV of the month April 2024

I'll go first!!! What you're seeing is one of the happiest M35A2's in existence! 1969 Kaiser Jeep, factory hardtop, rocket starter, and water heat system installed and intact! She's crusty, rusty, banged bruised and beat up, but who couldn't love that smile?
