Once we get him home I'm gonna strip the system completely & replace every line front to back. Probably stick with just one fuel tank. Might put the extra in tank deuce pump we've got in there as well. Do t know yet on that. Requires more reading and thought yet.
I'm learning towards a air leak i can't find, or a something is stuck in a line somewhere. I hope it's not the pump. The truck itself just about broke the bank, the trailer home has more than smashed the bank. So a new pump would be many many months out.
I do suppose the fuel line could be...
XM818 a semi failed recovery (It's alive)
So we decided we wanted a 5 ton to run with our deuce. Did a lot reading & a good bit of shopping around. Finally settled on a XM818 from a member here. Timntrucks who is a first class dude & has been great to deal with.
The wife & I left Springfield...
I've got about 18 decent to good 9.00-20's. Most are mounted, a few aren't. $75-100 each for the mounted ones, $50 each for the dismounted ones.
Let me know if interested, & I'll drag them along.
Will trade for 395/85/r20's. Also needing a working air horn.
Since the deuce has become my daily driver, & I've finally gotten the 12volt set up working right. I added a radio. Now I can listen to the news on the way to work. About 30 minutes each way.
Get a mount / dismount tool. I used these for years while working at Goodyear / Wingfoot. They're great for getting tires on and off the hubs once you figure out the technique. They're about $50 online. I'll be trying it out on 395's on MRAP wheels next week. So we shall see.
More like in the last 3 weeks than just this week.
Replaced the axel boots, & regreased the front end.
Completely rebuilt the 12volt system. Blasted fire department must have added a mile of extra wire.
Replaced the pyro. Again.
Bought new shoes, 395/85/r20.
Ordered MRAP wheels & adapter...
Hi. I'm looking for a bench seat set for a deuce. Doesn't have to be mint or anything, just complete. Could be out of a 5 ton even I've got a welder, I'm willing to make something work.
Thank you
Matthew
True statement. Funny thing here, that our IP is but a few months old. Was reman by AMBEC back in 99 and sat in a box till we put it in back in February or March of this year. It's a late G code pump I think, has no FDC from the factory, To add some more humor here, I drove around for 3 days...
