You would be better to have a good credit card and a phone to look up big truck towing services. From my experience, you may wait a long time for a road service outfit. Flats can be done by a tire business with a mobile unit.

It's really worth your time to hunt down kits with the sheet metal cup that fits on the spring end. Wheel cylinders are much less leak prone with them. Try small independent auto parts places for some new old stock.
I would suggest looking into some propane heat. We have that and were fine. A camp stove is also handy for outages. You can then use a smaller generator to carry the basics. You can carry smaller ones to the repair shop.
