Did a slide under yesterday (creeper) & found another leak, this time on the right front duals. The other three had no drips. I was also down a bit of brake fluid on the remote reservoir (fluid level was at top of the loop on the "d" before the Veterans Day Parade) so topped that off. Another...
I've heard a lot on here about having a pedometer & wondering if I need one. My Deuce is all stock & I just run diesel with a quart of oil ever 10-gal. Do I have to worry about high temps inside the engine?
Tell me about it. I got my Deuce 5-mo ago & I'm 52. I still feel like a kid inside, but I'm moving slower & getting down to check the tire pressure always makes me a bit light headed when I stand back up. I haven't done any long treks yet, but sure am glad my plans to get a Deuce in IN &...
Sorry to hear your repair will take so long. The good thing is hopefully once it is fixed, it will stay fixed for a long time. Lord willing & the creek don't rise.
Went to the Phoenix, AZ Veterans Day parade on Friday with the club I belong to, the AZMVCC - Arizona Military Vehicle Collectors Club). Got to chat with other MV owners & got to participate in the parade. The Deuce in front of me would honk "Shave & a haircut" & I'd honk "Two Bits" & the...
M35A2 AZ said those are the roll-up straps & he'll show me how to fasten to the bows at the parade. I just don't want to go to the prom with my pants inside out. ;)
Washed the Deuce to get ready for the Veteran's Day parade in Phoenix on the 11th. After it was all done, I looked up at the canvas top & think we put it on inside out. I think those straps are to attach to the bows to help hold it in place. Will flip it next weekend.
On the 15th, M35A2-AZ came over & we went looking for the source of the fluid leak on my left front wheel. Luckily, it wasn't the brake cylinder as I had feared. The brakes looked to be in fine shape (I bought 2 new master cylinders & 6 rebuild kits that I can now save for later) & the pads...
Aussie,
I must have missed that your cover was canvas. I have a canvas cover too on my Deuce. Every time I get near the Deuce, the canvas smell brings back memories as a boy at summer camp. They had an old Army 65-man canvas tent that we would sleep in and the canvas smell was just as strong.
