    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

In the meantime the M101A1 for the „build in a barn M1009“ gets some little but important details. No half work.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Dirt and dust always beats rust for sure. A dusty and dirty undercarriage can easily be cleaned if the surface underneath the dirt is free from rust and well preserved. And that is what really matters. A well preserved undercarriage free from rust. If this M1009 gets wet, dusty and dirty again...

Great progress, Rick. This is the best Christmas gift a man can get from a busy beaver. Imagine someone is very lucky and smiling right now writing this reply 😃 thank you! Good times! Happy new year!

Can you tell more about the new axles front and rear you installed, Rick? Are they the stock ones or are they different in any aspect and specification? Merry Christmas, busy beaver!

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

Does anyone need a nice set of stock leaf springs with good bushings? They are 37 years old but as good as new. Rick, this is gonna be a "build in a barn" masterpiece Kampfwagen. So happy to see some progress. Thank you.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

The Line-X color can be customized I think. The standard black color looks a little bit too glossy and shiny for a CUCV. It does not match the flat CARC paint. FS 34031 Helo Drab should be a better choice. It is a dark grey. The US Army AH-64 Kampfhubschrauber is painted in Helo Drab...

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

I always use Fertan as rust converter but you need to know the process of how to apply it. Here is a short and simple video by the producer that should help. And here is a link to the rust converter: https://fertanusa.com/products/fertan-rust-converter/ Most important thing is to remove the...

I think this Reformer just slows down the rust process but does not stop it. Take care and relax the rest of the day.

I really advise you to apply rust converter before sealing, priming and painting (LineX). Sanding will not remove the rust in the little pinholes. I always use „Fertan“. A german product. Easy to apply and very effective. Not applying rust converter would lead to failure.

Is this me waiting for Little Red? 😉 Everyone of us is waiting at the moment - hard times.

    M1009 Little Red Riding Hood.

These many hours of detailing and hard work make a good CUCV a great CUCV. I know a very honorable man who said: „Do it right the first time or don‘t do it. Haste makes waste.“ Think you know him, he is from Pennsylvania.

Sounds great. Do you choose the standard, premium or platinum Line-X protection? And what about a dark grey instead of black? Take care.

Thank you. Every detail matters on this beauty - even an old but original decal. Rick, we know what we are talking about. Take care. Happy times.

    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

Checking and rebuilding the injection pump on Little Red M1009 does make sense too. I don‘t know when you will finally start this project but maybe it is a good idea to send in Little Reds injection pump too. Maybe you get a discount for sending two injection pumps.

Keep on rollin', Rick. And come on guys, time to get some free painting lessons next weekend. BBQ guaranteed when all the painting work is done ;-)

You are absolutely correct. Shame on those who played with you. This is NOT your fault. Enjoy driving with this nice, clean and perfect M1009.

Maybe a bad cable (cable break) or a loose contact? If it works time by time the mind of it‘s own could just be a loose connection.

Thank you for this great picture, Rick. Showing three strong fighters and a perfectly fitting german Bundeswehr Regenjacke :)

Just remember how this M1009 looked like back in 2017.......! Rick: 100 points.

If we had the knowledge we would share it with you of course 😊 but it is almost impossible to keep up with your expert level.
