The only issue I have seen from doing the bypass is the first battery really gets a work out.
I would install a large 1000+ CCA battery. The first battery is heating the glow plugs and doing 1/2 of the starting work.
Other then that little downfall its a good mod.

I did have a factory 1985 Chevrolet truck radio in there that I cleaned up but it was having fits
so I had no choice but to remove her.

EMP shielded? I do not think so.
They are very few Military vehicles that are EMP shielded and I have worked on one. Only one, and you need clearance to even look inside it.

Fresh air intake is on the passenger side. hoses come thru the transmission tunnel.
But from what I am seeing the hoses can be slammed in just about anyplace.
your better off fixing it back to the factory design. I had to replace every inch of the glow plug system on my M1008 and it cost me about 200 bucks.
the control system is a stand along harness and can be found on Ebay or here for 30 ish dollars. The control card can be found here for $80 ish I...
looks like a grain truck set up. If that is true your not going to be going up and down/up steep approaches.
you guys are correct that the best option is to have the single sprung axle up front.
But for what she is going to be doing it should be fine.

Sounds like spring and hanger bushings have worn out. Maybe....
You really should measure from caliper to spring pad not the frame.
Another thing could be different offset of the rims. Maybe one got swapped
What is the major difference are the governor springs (shift points)
The 3/4 ton and diesel 700's have a lock up in 2ed gear. The 1/2 ton 700 does not lock up until 3rd gear.
Its not a big deal its just a towing split shift kinda thing.
The 700 will NOT bolt up to the factory T case in the...
