If you are going to be towing 10K pounds or working the truck with heavy loads, yes I would not install 10 bolts.
But I am not towing loads heavy enough to damage the axles.
With the power out put of the 6.2 you would be hard pressed to take an axle out as is.
I installed the 10 bolts for two...
LMC has them for around 60 bucks with clips. I got mine off eBay from seller bowtie_bits for 49$ with clips and free shipping.
I would list that under hood insulation as a 100% MUST do!!!
I made a short speed run in the HSM1008 today. She will hold 65 with ez and power to 80 on the flats.
very smooth at 65 MPH and with the new under hood insulation all you can hear is the wind noise from the 30 year old window seals.
Driver side alternator is the 12v side passenger is the 24v side. sounds like you need to go one of two ways..... back to factory or 100% remove the wiring harness and install a painless harness.
You should never use a tap on a block or any other already tapped hole!!!!
Use a thread chaser. You are not cutting new threads only cleaning the existing ones up.
Tapping existing threads is only asking for trouble.
High speed M1008 running.
She started right up at 20* this morning.
Last week she started at 5* but not 0*.
The rear battery is getting weak and I will replace it soon.
You do understand that "synthetic" oil is just filtered oil from the ground? The stuff you buy at the store is NOT man made oil.
It is simply filtered oil to filter out the long strands to get a smaller strand base (less friction).
True synthetic oils cost about 1000$ a quart and are mainly...
He wants to use the factory battery cables and connect the batteries with the extra lugs... IE wire them twice....
No need to do so and you will not gain a thing.
I installed the under hod insulation tonight (it's 10* today) and what a noise difference inside the cab and out side the truck. Wow!! I got mine with clips off eBay for 49$ shipped. This is another must do!!!!
Are you using a 24V pump? Otherwise the passenger side alternator is really not doing a darn thing.
The driver side is the 12V power source. It is rated factory at 100 amps. Everything on that truck is 12V beside the starter.
No the snow ball effect will not happen if the resistor is removed. You are not understanding how the factory system works.
With the Resistor in place with all 8 glow plugs working output of the resistor is 12V (ish)
when one plug fails the voltage goes up, second plug fails and voltage...
because when one glow plug fails with the resistor in place the voltage goes up and spikes the rest of the plugs and then a snow ball effect takes place and burns the rest of them up and can damage the glow plug control card.
