then you'll need 600' of 1" rope just incase you need to pull out all 300" of rear winch! (and that's straight pull, without using the two snatch blocks for the 1" Manilla!)
So - is the drum bigger (dia), or is it mounted with clearance to get a second layer? An 816, all the way up and full stick will just reach the ground in 3 part - you have an exta boom plus it's additional height x3 for the cable fall...
Reasons for and against listed... However I did not even consider the 819 would have a few feet more... or would it? Perhaps when using the 'manual' third stick, it was only done at single fall - therefore wouldn't need extra cable. Ron, you are our resident 819 guru (I guess dh too)... Does...
I will be getting 300' of Manilla rope, just 'cause the BII says so. I have the two 1" pulley blocks though they don't appear to work as a pair (The single sheave doesn't have the thimble end - yet the double sheave does - should be the other way around inorder to get 4:1 pull or 3:1 with change...
Ah, you mean like this:-

Amazing aren't they - 6x4, 1920's design....
Though these are more like skid steer tracks than tyre chains... but chains might work at VERY low speeds so long as axle articulation doesn't stretch them too much.
Then why bother getting a special colour - OD, black or what ever.... Looks like this thread just went into a tail spin... We can all go out and get the lime green 'civi' ones and paint them.......
Personally, I am not "there yet" with painting plastic. Not to be trusted. I have only just...
Maybe a poll on colour? But how to do one.... do I need to start a new thread in the 'poll' section or can one be added to this thread?

Quick sketch of black on black for comparison. forgot to add the rust drip stain!
... trouble with painting a stripe is that when nuts are tightened or wheels changed, stripe has to be realigned... but it would work (colour blindness excepting!)
Black on black - maybe not a good idea, though I am not suggesting that the "walk around" be done from 50'. I think the shape alone out of place would show a loose nut obviously enough, even at 5' distance...
What about red? Some military stuff has "don't touch" red paint on nuts (not...
I do do a class A "pre trip" every time, (I could say that calling it a "walk around" is also amateur!... but I won't ;)) and do know about rust trails and witness marks, I was just trying to offer a purchasing service for those that may want them - amateur or otherwise...
A lot of fleets are...
Following up on Check your nuts thread.. I have found a supplier that will do custom colours...

But they have a minimum run of 5000.
The fluorescent green ones seem to sell for about $120 for a set of 100 (tractor trailer), as yet I...
I don't think that towing a full trailer (drawbar type - M720, HEMAT etc., ie., one that can stand by it's self where as a "semi" trailer needs something else under the front to make it work) behind a rigid truck is considered as a double so shouldn't need that endorcement. Certainly not needed...
.... getting warmer!!!
Ignoring the North part of the puzzle, I even considered that if you go the wrong way, far enough, the East might work instead of West!!!..... Nope!
Just thought I'd pose a little brain teaser... Whilst doing a little window shopping, I noticed a watermark on some of tthe GL pictures as being what looked like GPS coordinates...

.. so without actually visualising it, I...
Not sure if this ought to be clarified any - but I call a 5th wheel trailer a semi trailer - one and the same thing, which has up to 50% weight on towed vehicle - maybe you were refering to a full trailer, one that has a steer axle(s) at the front with a drawbar (as a converter dolly) and...
I see your 'Stop for children' and raise you a 'snow cone'....
... I bet Soni is glad that he didn't post a 'projected ideas' thread now!!
... also, if this 'game' continues, we should get back to the specific forum chosen.... Hot rod!
... Yes, what Ron said. Rear fog lights are red and as bright as brake lights. A solid amber light on the rear means (1st) OVERSIZE, flashing amber means bigger (2nd) OVERSIZE or a slow hazard. (Not including European style amber turn signals)...
