Garret - I don't think that the general population of S/S is forgetting the allies of the US. There are also the Danes, Aussies, Kiwis etc.. etc... And to conflict the WWI &WWII part of your statement, the Germans, Italians and Japanese are now all of our allies.
Since I have lived in the...
To get back to the OP... Question I see is that due to seperate circuit for stop/turn on rear, running a tap from the front turn to the rear bed each side, will be a lot of work - unless you want amber turn signals at the back and maybe for a trailer and I for one think it's a little redundant...
......
Yeah - I'm with JimmyT on that one...... Gonna need a diagram!
Is it me or has nobody yet explained the red 'stop/turn' thing yet? Don't want the clearance lights coming on with the stop light.
This diag has many flaws as I haven't seen the wiring diag yet ( TM BULLET! ) [you...
Quick Question.
Tapping into the rear turn signal wire will also be the brake light wouldn't it? Red 'stop and turn', which comes from the 'blinker' unit on the bulkhead.
Wouldn't you have to find the wire that went forward to the 'amber' front turn lamps?
I haven't yet gotten into the...
Does your main vertical shaft have a grease fitting on the bottom end or will you do the grease fitting mod?
Let me know if the details are adequate. You are aiming for grease supply to the gap between the upper and lower ball races - right where the two rings of balls are.
Oh my... Shall I, shalln't I....
Yes I agree that there MAY be a few other LR types that grace these pages, but what will you gain? Yes, you will have something that most won't have ever seen before, may have heard about, read about etc. But the purpose of joining a forum is to further your...
A set of steps and a 6" lift for the trailer... or bigger trailer wheels!
There isn't much weight in an RV trailer, so in theory you could put the fifth wheel plate off of the rear of the bed on a small sub frame.....
Dolly is an option but backing would be a real nightmare....
De mountable...
Looking at the pics on e-gay of 'older' Victor sets, none really match the BII pic very well, though I guess there is a heap of artistic licence by the detailer. As to your question, I guess period correct or newer (ie., inservice replacement) would be the way to go.
I just remembered that I do...
Let me guess Eric - you have a nice set of "nearly" working ones to trade for a tire or so!!! Give me some details...
Not exactly sure - the non working ones would have to be pretty cheap since working ones are real handy - though I do have two other working sets at home - one in the shop on...
Can anyone tell me the manufacturer (model #) of the appropriate torch set for a 70's wrecker (M816). I got a nice box (45) from Jeff and I think I need to fill it!
"Vintage" sets on egay that 'look' like the TM pic seem to be either Harris, Smiths or Victor. May be the "Lin 67706" is...
Felt sheet from your local fabric/arts n crafts store.
Not sure which part you are trying to remove - sheck the TM's for components. Probably need a shop press.
Is this the part you are refering to?
Jim - are they just 'frozen' or are they 'totalled'?
When I rebuilt my level wind - they were all frozen but I was able to take them apart, (pryed the lip of the cage adjacent the hole in the outer so one needle could be pushed out) - clean and polish each needle and repack them back into the...
Final design.
Thanks to added info from Patracy - the 'Hucklebury' test pilot, I have finalised the required bends needed to get the knob of the lever extension in the right place to make a difference when driving.
Having the two knobs side by side for Hi 1st is not a problem - mainly because...
Nice one Pat - looks loads better than when I last saw it. Should help big time with the migration.
Keeping the "soft" front - or will you be looking for that CUCV brush guard effect?
Did I just hear some one say "Bob it"....!!!!!
"..... oh, the humanity".
Found this pic recently - '60s wrecker spring locks for side lifting. Way quicker than deploying the stabilisers when lifting to the side and when not lifting to the max. This is also done remotely with tracked crane vehicles.
Will have a look see later if the lifting eyes on the rear bogey...
Don't see and adjusted "signature" line for the 819 yet!!!
You don't need a drawing for that - just do it and post the pics for us to look at..... by next weekend!
Now give me something that does need a drawing for : )
I think you need to decide on your requirements. Making an XM933 (big assumption here that that is the 900's version 819) would be nice since they (military) never 'finished' the idea, but for functionallity around your yard/local...
Useage:
recovery - big winch/ground spades etc:........? %...
Too many "M" numbers! My brain hurts.....
What do you want to do with the XL 928? It only has single frame members so would pretzle just looking at your first load...
You want to make a 900 series 819... is that the plan? Oh yeah.. AND add the big winch.
How about loosing the...
