    Generator test adaptor? generator testing?

That temp switch activates a solenoid that puts air to the air pack and thus applies the brakes of the truck. That's why it's a temp brake and not a long term like the regular e-brake is. And yes it does draw power when it's applied.

    Generator test adaptor? generator testing?

The test sets are not truck specific as they would work on any M series truck with a gas motor and generator and voltage regulator. Basically the kit provided a new cable to go between the gen and the regulator with spots to hook a VOM to get a look at what the system was producing. It also...

    New to the Deuce world

Nice looking truck. The good news about the bed is if you can get a M35 bed it's a direct swap and you wouldn't need to worry about trying to rebuild if the bed is rotted through. If it is just surface rust and light pitting I'd say media blast and repaint. Good luck with your truck.

    Tie rod end replacement

Crazy question...but if you go to the auto parts store and ask for a set of tie rods do they offer a long and short end?

    Experimental 5/4t? - XM705

We'd have to research it but I think the M705 was a considered replacement for the M715. The composite lights came out in either 1968 or 69 and all MVs produced after that time frame had the large composite lights on them (example M151A2's were designed for the composite lights) as appose to...

    G749 Gauge Replacement

The M-series gauges will work and you may not need to convert them to get them to work. The fuel sender should work, but it may not be accurate. Pull yours out and see how it measures up to the the replacement. The if the new one is shorter you'll read empty before you really are and if the...

    Experimental 5/4t? - XM705

These are neat trucks and I've coveted one for many years. Back in the 90s a friend here in Ohio had one and I got to sit in the truck. The weird thing with this truck is even as a grown man you sit in the truck and you feel like a little kid sitting in your dad's truck. I remember looking at...

    Transmission drain/fill plug

I use to drain the trans and the pull the fill plug and the gear shifter. Then filled from the top till it ran out the fill plug hole. Much easier than trying to tip a bottle up into the fill hole with the trans mounted in the vehicle.

    Cab Top

Get a new top and a couple gallons of Canvac? All canvas tops start out lighter and get darker as waterproofing, dirt, grease, pollution, etc affect it.

    Wiring and Wiring Harness

Yep the A1 and A2 harnesses are different. Like said the A2 Front harness has power to the wipers and the A1 rear harness has power to the in tank fuel pump. If I had and A1 and an A2 harness presented it's self to me at a good price I'd use it and make the changes needed to work on my A1.

Painted the m998 today, Gettin ready for Durhamtown !!

If you shooting real CARC paint you should have air supplied respirator, safety goggles, as well as the suite. Be careful as you don't want to risk your health for the hobby. Truck looks great!

    M149 water buffalo

Well this one isn't any good for drinking water as it seems to be a gray water tank hence the NON-POTABLE stenciled on it. It was used for waist water. Could be used for agriculture purposes. Find a farmer who needs a big tank and get what ever he'll give you for it.

    Brake issues M882

Check your rubber hose between the frame and the axles. If they are collapsing or have a small hole allowing air in that could be frustrating your progress. That and what N1265 said about the push rod. Other than that it may be that you just have a lot of air in the system and need to bleed it...

    M151a2 engine question.

The motors are fairly simple to work on. Heck I replaced the water pump in the field one afternoon. Another time a friend and I were near DC when we dropped a valve in #1 cylinder. Had another friend UPS us a take off head and gaskets put the new head on in a snow storm and drove the little...

    New to the Deuce world

Welcome. The GMCs are fun trucks and you should have a blast. Just don't expect to keep up with traffic on the interstate. These are from a time when everyone traveled slower.

    Help with Bumper/Unit Markings

Of course you must take a picture of the truck with the new markings and post for all of us to see. :)

    M151a2 engine question.

Also these motors run better if you pull the choke about a 1/4 inch. Most folks pull the choke out start it get it running and then push it all the way in, but the M151 needs the choke out just a little. I always use to pull it out about a fingers width when I had mine.

    Generator no charge/ no lights

If you have a stock system with the generator and the thick cable that threads on to it going to a box on the firewall that has two connectors on it, the one for the thick cable and the one with a single wire coming out of it, and the box has like 3 or 4 coils and relays inside of it that is the...

    Help with Bumper/Unit Markings

Hereis my best guess based on the information you provided. As looking at thevehicle your left hand side 3A 80I and on the right hand side 780MT-X (X can beany number you want as that is the vehicles position in the convoy so you canhave 1 or 11 or 25 etc. Maybe use your dad’s year of birth...
