I'm going from memory here, but it looks like the right one to me. Does it not engage when you try to start the it? Is it causing any other issues besides making noise when turning the motor by hand?

Not a lot of info but hope it will help. Does your truck run? Gas or diesel?
Unfortunately I'm in Cleveland so it's not around the block to get your free beer and food... But the best thing you can do is down load the maintenance manuals for the M37 and start learning. Find You tube videos on how to repack bearings etc. Let's start with some basic questions. Do...
I would think you would need to check what the federal import laws say as well as DOD regulations. I would think that federal laws would supersede state laws in this case. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but the last thing you want is for customs to seize your truck and...
How long does it run before it dies? If it is for a few seconds (less than a minute) then it may be the fuel pump. Enough fuel gets into the bowl to start and then when it's empty the pump is not sending enough to keep it running. Remember you need three things to make it go varoom. Spark...
The HMMWV spare tire carrier is a swing arm one correct. Without looking at it I would have to guess that you need to mount the posts or mounting points on the truck. Just spit balling ideas here, but what about making two brackets that mount to the side of the bed so that they come just past...
Mount the HMMWV mount in the bed so it will swing out to the tailgate opening. Then lower the gate swing tire, remove and mount on truck good to go. Or if you want you could just do like the M37 and try mounting it on the drivers door somehow. I would think something like a M37 bed mount would...
Make sure your manifold flange and your head pipe flanges are good and smooth and matting to each other. Also NAPA makes a gasket sealer for exhausts that works great! Also see if you can get the gasket material that is metallic looking like the ones used on the manifold to the head. That...
nopics Cause if you don't supply pics by internet law the project doesn't exists.
Please post some pics of your project so we can understand the depth of your situation.
You can get HMMWV steering column on ebay and other sources along with steering wheels. I can tell you that you are going to have to go with a different set up than the M37s as they are not even close. I did find interesting enough that the column from an M715 fits the HMMWV wheel and the only...
I've seen worse brought back to life. So far what I see isn't that bad and should be a good restoration project for you. Good luck and keep all of us posted.
