The switch is very simple inside . Two 90 degree arcs of graphite/carbon 90 degrees apart. When A and B are both on the same arc segment, C and D are on the other arc segment, and the circuits are complete. When A is not on the arc segment, neither is C and the circuits are 'off'. If it...
The deuces on my driveway are plated and insured, but one would have to trespass on the property to see the plates. I'm also a member of the 'Gray Team' that takes care of the yards - mowing, tree cutting, etc. - for the neighborhood widows. Only six of the 42 houses have 'new' people in them...
Local rules vary. I'm in SC, not in a town or HOA, and I have two deuces parked in my driveway. Most of the neighborhood children and grandchildren (when they are visiting) have had their picture taken behind the steering wheel of one or both of them.
Already started setting aside items for use at the Rally. Got a can of pew-pew's for Sonny, and a cook pot cradle for Cabell. John and I will work out the grocery list for the Peon Palace in early August.
Officially, the deuce-and-a-half must be able to carry 5,000 pounds cross country and up a slope of a specified angle and height, and twice that weight on paved roads. 5,000 pounds is 2.5 short tons. WWII trucks got the name first and it's stuck around through the M35 series.
Get "GTA-9-1-185 (1-8) Systematic Inspection Procedure for the 2 1/2 Ton Truck" also. And plan on coming to the Virginia Rally over the Labor Day weekend at the Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, VA. about 30 miles north of Charlottesville.
It's loaded in the van for transport, along with a field sink for Cabell. The plan is to leave Columbia at 0-dark-thirty and be there before 10, then leave in the early afternoon to be home before dark.
It was some dirt rubbed onto the plate when the South Bend Lathe came out. I had washed most of it off but some was stubborn. The three phase motor on that lathe weighs more than I do, by a good margin. I try washing it again and rescan.
It's a metal plate, with sharp edges, not easy to mail. it measures 9 3/8 inches (23.9 cm) tall, and 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm) wide. Send me your e-mail address and I will send you the full sized scan.
The original scan is 3MB, when uploading it to the site, it dropped to 600K, that's why it's fuzzy! The upload process got rid of five of every six pixels. I may try uploading it again as a horizontal image to see if it is any better.
From the other thread on the RT-524, a good working 524 is $400 +, a shell probably $100, with more guts, the price rises, but it depends on what is missing (some parts are harder to source than others). PRC-77 is less but not by a whole lot. Main problem for civilians using them is the only...
