I'll have to do some research then. I don't know if I'll have it presentable in time for Weare, still need to order tires for my deuce and do some painting....just a few of many things in my to-do list.
Over all condition of trailer is very nice, a few of the edges have bondo shoved on them, but...
It didn't feel loose, but did rotate around. What should I look at to make sure everything is OK? Is it simply just tightening the nut? I had read that many have issues with them not flipping when doing government auctions.

So the plates were still intact, had to rewrite bill of sale, cause in NH can't get temp plates without a full bill of sale, or some pretty good pile of paperwork.
Reason I didn't see plates was it was buried in long grass. Pintle was buried in dirt, but surprisingly still rotated easy.
But...
I would need what is called a VIN verification form, basically have a certified guy(leo, dmv, inspection station) say no legible VIN, and get a new one issued. That would allow me to register it all right with no issues. Just paper work.

Just purchased an m105 trailer, initial inspection I didn't see the data plate, which of course has the VIN on it. Would the VIN be stamped anywhere else on the trailer?
I'm going to try and recover it tonight, it's in the back of the property in long grass, and the landing skid had broken so...
While I'm no expert, I know several vehicles that call for a heavier weight differential oil when towing. Towing creates extra heat, and I think to keep the same properties of a 90wt at a certain temp, they use a 140wt.
I'm having a little trouble trying to write in words what I'm thinking, but...
Sounds like a governer issue. BUT can be a very bad air in fuel issue.
Put a clear line on the return side, make sure there are no bubbles when starting or after sitting.
It might not be the miles, but rather age making it act up.
As to air in fuel, my truck did same sort of thing, except it...
I'm voting for stock, I do understand rims, and so an axle change (CUCV axles I think work) wouldn't be a bad change, but I think the engine is rather reliable. Only if I could never rebuild the stick engine(cracked block, crank, etc) would I then drop a 6.2/5 diesel in, with a nv4500.
In the...
Good shim kits use the same center bolt that goes through the spring pack....not same, but new center bolt. This basically makes the shim a sort of leaf/zero rate block.
I would make sure the pinion gets oil, otherwise you'll be rebuilding axles. Or just add a little extra oil, and make sure...
Loosen the injector hard lines one at a time, see if there is any significant change in smoke, or sound. Any time I buy new injectors I get them pop tested, last set had 4 bad injectors(leaked and very poor spray, low pop pressure)
You should also verify the CDR/PVC valve did not fail, by...
Non turbo right? Verify IP numbers, drivers side, hard to see, but possible.
Ran fine before injectors? Other maintence? Smoke doesn't clear when warm?

Just fore warning, I went through three Newstar brand dimmer switches with Douglas connectors before finding a good NOS one. The Newstar brand internal cam would fail one way or the other, and no amount of hitting, tapping or some other external violence worked. You can carefully pull them apart...
A lot of big rig trucks had 24volt electrical too, Mack especially used 24 starters and ignition in their gas motors, lights and other accessories where 12volt. That was during the 60's and 70's. Although none of the coils I've found would work, they are like a coffee can size coil with heat...
I'm subscribing to this thread, I have an m35 that has issues staying running on low idle trail runs, I think from the lack of airflow, and thus the coil gets too hot. Could be something else, but typically a 10-15 minute wait gets it to run again.
PS, the early deuce and the M35 and M54 (5ton)...
Depending on use, you could apply for antique truck title, but that is also dependent on year. Beyond that I won't comment anymore.

That style also requires a thick flat washer, can't find the part number, and it's not readily available through aftermarket suppliers (i.e. RockAuto) you'll have to go to a dealer, or try Evil-bay.

Oh, I'm not saying the 700 is a good tranny, merely pointing out gm put them in more then the blazers (if I recall, gm actually put them in the light duty 6 lug 3/4 tons up to 1994 or 5)
I wouldn't run one, don't know if some one could pay me to run one. I've picked up a couple trucks that have...
