What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I think a lot of guys want to be able to do highways speeds (45+ mph) in 4wd, but in my opinion, if you need 4wd to maintain control at that speed, your just going to fast for the conditions anyways. In my opinion the gear vendors is overpriced for the avaliable options now-a-days, I would much...

    CUCV II Brush guard Measurements

I was expecting some different mounting points, doesn't really seem to be as strong as early cucv are. I can really see the curve in it too, will have to work around that somehow... thanks for those. My Google search was certainly lacking. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

    CUCV II Brush guard Measurements

Bumping to the top, still looking for measurements. I plan on doing a few modifications, but still need some rough measurement to base everything off of.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Might have to ask around, but I would take your lines in and have new rubber crimped on. High temp hydraulic line would last longer. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Stud posts, basically just a 3/8" threaded post. They are a lot more common on big rigs. They sell adapters to convert them to a "regular" post, almost the same as the adapters they sell to convert side terminal to a post. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

    CUCV II Brush guard Measurements

Looking for either a scale drawing or just rough measurement of the CUCV II front brush guard. These seem to be even harder to find then the regular CUCV guards. Thanks.

Cracked Bolthole on Block for Starter

These starters don't use the typical Bendix drive, but rather a spring plunger to engage the starter gear- the momentum of the flywheel will cause the starter gear to retract. Your issues lies elsewhere. Have you checked the flex-plate for straightness? Possible issue is that upon redrilling...

    Gasser Deuce pics and videos?

This is my build thread, https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?t=136562 Should be some videos in it, and if followed to Youtube, should be able to find more on my channel. It has been a while since I've updated that thread, last year was a blur, and I felt like I hardly used the truck...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That does look nice, I may couple that with some extra material from aftermarket sources (dynamite or such) to help even more. Thanks. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

Please do anyways, I was considering trying to find one for my truck, but something more along aftermarket universal. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

If I think it will be parked for more then a week, I chock the front tire, and a rear tire, and leave the parking brake released. I do leave in gear sometimes as well, but not if on a significant grade. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

What did you do to your deuce this week?

How's your brake fluid? That is typically the sign of a leaking wheel cylinder-not good to lose brakes... Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

I never found a source to get keyed alike ignition and door (glove box optional) in black, only chrome. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

How good is a deuce really in the mud?

I think that's what the guy with camera was trying to say, the driver should have definitely knew to change his angle when he hit that bank. And he was moving back far enough, he could have turned his steer tires in the tracks made by the duals, the trick is to not try turning too soon, and to...

I hope you mean the pink/red wire? Far as I know, the two green wires on the IP control high idle and the cold advance solenoid. The large pink is the fuel shut off. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

Normally from use of ether, but could also be from a bad injector leaking fuel creating hot spots. When was the last time injectors were done? Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

On my truck (civy k10) it was loose bolts on steering box, only seen when going lock to lock, but felt when going down the road. The bolts felt and looked tight, but a wrench told another story. Torque should be around 60-70ft-lbs if I remember right. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk

Mulemac01 M275 2 1/2 ton Gas truck tractor ON-GOING restoration and rebuild tread.

You can try White Owl, I'm assuming you are talking the gaskets that connect the manifold to the short extension pipe. The manifold to head gaskets are also hard to find, and mostly need to get the whole engine gasket kit. Sent from my SM-S920L using Tapatalk
