I didn't use chalk at all when i painted my deuce. I first painted everything 383 green. I then printed off the paint-by-numbers camo guide in the TM so i could reference the pattern. For kicks i got my colored pencils out and colored in the numbers so I could see what the truck would look like...
I was an idiot and used a tap to clean out the threads on mine that were full of paint. I used a fine thread tap when it was actually coarse thread. I felt dumb dumb dumb. I'm still not completely over it. :cookoo:
I love my MEP-002A because its just rugged and will run for hours and hours on end. Built like a brick outhouse. Oh, you have to shut your civy generator down to put fuel in it? Not this guy... just plug a fuel line into it and flip the switch on the control panel. I love it!
I know. My garage is a total pit right now. It will be a couple day job cleaning that up. Pressure wash my old heads and use them for weight in the back of the jeep for the winter time!
Maybe but thats what we do Gimp! haha! :) Engineers have to over think everything. To me, thats half the fun of the hobby. I love knowing how things work. Then the more I know, the more I can help others in the hobby. You and other guys helped me a lot on here and I just try to pass it on :)
I love the sound of those 855 Cummins, but dang, the fuel mileage turns me right off. I love running my deuce in WMO and for me, that makes it worth it. i wouldn't be able to drive it as much as i do if i had to pay for straight diesel. But yea, an 855 with Jake Brakes and straight stacked would...
Anybody have updates as to if these single cylinder compressors can be rebuilt? Mine does not knock or anything but i am thinking about just honing the cylinder and putting new rings in it.
I agree. Higher volume would be nicer to have for these oil nozzles but i don't know how much of a disadvantage it would be in the big picture not having the LDS 465-2 oil pump. More is better but who knows how much. Another thing to consider, the oil cooler for that LDS 465-2 engine was...
These are the same pistons that I used, even the same date code.
Another things to add since you said you were comparing pistons, I have a comparison of the LDT pistons I took out to the new LDS pistons I put in...
Good question. It's too late for me to look at the ones in my truck now, but I still have my old ones to measure. I'll get that data tomorrow. I believe the oil pressure regulator will prioritize oil going to the bearings first. After oil pressure is met, the access oil goes to the oil nozzles...
No real noticeable difference G. I researched it a little and I found the LDT oil pump and the LDS oil pump was the same one. Feel free to double check my research though if you feel different or know something I don't. Always good to double check :)
Now, before the rebuild the oil pressure...
