Marquee is preferred but at the very least Premium Plus. Source: painted a lot of trucks in Behr.

    MRAP Buffalo Trainer

That is awesome. Did any have LED route clearance lights? I have a kit for an MRAP but the NSN doesn't cross to anything.

Stewart & Stevenson 6x6 in Hawaii

Yeah, hit me up. I've shipped from Hawaii quite a few times and it's a rodeo. If done right you can still make it a good deal.

need hemtt Detroit Diesel 8v92ta mechanic near Sacramento

The racor on the HEMTT doesn't like positive pressure from air but if you do then do it gently. TM 9-2320-279-20-1, Section 2-18 discusses bleeding the air at the fuel filter housing with a priming pump if you want to do it by the book.

    FMTV Pre-Production Prototypes

Yes. I've also discovered an A1 that was modified to be autonomous but the owner wont share any decent pictures.

12V Switch Box Relay Electrical Issue

Yes you can bypass those solenoids and yes they've caused that exact same issue on 2 trucks I've had. I sourced a replacement new style unit for $400 out of a company in the North East (I'd have to dig it up) but the other I simply bypassed. Your troubleshooting steps are correct but just to...

    2.87 gears installed.

I thought there was someone on the west coasts doing 2.87 gears swaps but wouldn't sell the gears unless he installed them. Going with that thinking I'd dig around a little more and try to provide your own front and rear if they'd do the middle. I wish I had more details off the top of my head.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

These two ladies got delivered today with two more on the way. The previous owner had them all wired up with speakers, GPS, many many lights, and a live PTO pump which I haven't gotten a good look at yet. These two are late RRAD "rebuilds" that need some love before they find a new home.

    2.87 gears installed.

You nailed it. 14.00's aren't in demand by the military so they've dried up surplus wise. You combine that with lower top speed (56 mph), older date codes (typically), and higher demand (because all 5 tons use them too) then you end up here. Gears vs tires. One is disposable and the other not...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Replaced all hoses on this auger unit, rebuilt the injectors on the 353, cleaned and painted this beauty. I've still got to finish the inside of the cab and some small things left.

    LMTV Conversion to 12V

The Starter is 24v. The start relay solenoid on the frame near the power steering fluid is 12v but the rest is 24v. Source: pulled one this morning. As for turning the truck completely 12v the alternator would need to be replaced, starter replaced, some relays, exterior lights replaced, and...

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Helped a fellow SS'er get his M725 loaded up and sent home. The LMTV idled it up the ramps and loading went like clockwork.

MV of the Month September 2020

I'll toss in my 2004 Stewart & Stevenson M1088A1 that I just painted 3 weeks ago. Easily the best running and most complete FMTV I've ever seen. Photo was taken during a suprise haboob (dust storm).
