Yes, I was going to make them like the standard winch plate. I don't know why the plate on my bobber has the ends trimmed off like it does. Never seen another like it before.
How does $24 for a winch top plate sound? This would be without the small 1/8" (just a guess on size) mounting holes for the data plates.
I'm leaving the data plate mounting holes out, because data plates seem to vary from winch to winch. I've seen them with two data plates, and up tp five...
Scary welds? what ever....
The welds are on his exhaust y-pipe, not anything structural that could fail, causing injury or death. All exhust shops (drive in, drive out 1 hour type) employ some of the worst weldors I have ever seen. His welds are no worse that any of them shops that people...
The winch top plate on my Bobbed Deuce is pretty trashed. The previous owner used bolts for a shear pin, and by the looks of the top plate had run the chain/grabhook in, on more than a few occasions:roll:
Any ways, I'm going to make a new top plate for my truck, and wanted to know if there was...
Even if you spend big money on a shear pin, how do you know your getting the proper grade number of aluminum for your "fuse". I've never seen a shear pin come with an attached, material certifiction number. I see them advertised and sold as "M35A2 Aluminum winch sheer pins"
LOL...great minds think alike.
I wanted one large print to hang on the wall, if I needed a visual reference before I started working on the truck. I also had him print out a smaller 8x17" "cheat sheet" that I was going to get laminated, so I could bring it onto the truck if I needed it, while...
About a year ago (maybe even longer) I had a friend of mine print out the Deuce wiring schemetic at his work, on their plotter printer. I needed a 17x34" picture frame to hold the drawing. It's an odd size for a picture frame, so I never found one that would quite work for me. I have to admit, I...
Duals Rule.........
To me, a singeled out Deuce with 9.00x20's or even the 11.00x20's looks like it has Polio, with it's little cripple legs back there.
If I ever ditch the Bobbed Deuce and run a regular normal Deuce, it will be dualled, for sure.
How are you going to get the old broken studs out, seeings how their snapped way below the surface?
p.s. I do have an extra multi fuel in the barn that we could pull a couple studs out of if you need them.
Right now I'm just puting out feeleres for prices. (if the price doesn't kill the idea) When the time comes, Ill take them my box and my cargo cover, and they can duplaicate it out of plain OD canvas and test fit it, to the box.
A picture of what needs to be made and some measurements will...
I looked over and through the internets, and I couldn't find the picture that I was after.
Does anyone here have a picture of an M105 cargo cover, in the flat position laying in the ground?
Because you can no longer (I can't any ways) find or buy a plain Vietnam era canvas M105 Olive Drab...
If you can get it up to Holland, it can stay in one of my barns untill you make it down this way or some one else goes your way. I don't know if that helps or not, but it's an option.
If your new truck doesn't fit, that's a perfect reason to build a bigger barn.
I lucked out, my Deuce with a lift and 53" tires fits in my barn without any clearance issues. :p
Thanks again for the help.
I got the heater installed just before we had to leave for the car show. Not much time left to spare. Because I was running short on time, I didn't get a chance to wire in the fan motor low-side resistor wiring. So the heat was on full blast for the ride home. Let me...
