Had different engine sound after oil change and replacing radiator, now resolved.

Not sure if you have a Harbor Freight near you but they sell an oil pressure gauge tester. Pull the sender, screw in the adapter hose and connect to gauge. See what you are really getting. Try putting the old sender back in and see if the light goes out.

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

No, no issues with the vacuum lines. You have less room to work on that side to install the new port fitting but I was just able to move things out of the way enough to get it all installed. Desert Turtle doesn't have an IG page per say but I do post up stuff I am working on it and my other...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

Here's a couple pics for ya 45* hose (before adding clamps). I just cut down each leg to get the right fit Here is the bracket I made to raise the return line and still had to tweak it a little around that one port on the crossover. HUMVEE crossover with Paradox by Design cooling kit...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

That lower port is 3/4" npt. I used an adapter 3/4" to 1/2". https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D2GZ6TC/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_Sl-JEbYC0831S Top ports are 1/2". For my aftermarket gauge sending unit, I used 1/2" to 1/8" npt. Also, the angle is different for the port to the water pump. I used a 45*...

    Oil seeping into dash

Yep, hydroboost leak. Rear push rod seal is likely bad. No idea on how easy to rebuild versus replacing unit.

    Mechanical fuel pump replacement

Have you cracked any of the lines at the injectors and see if you are getting any fuel to them? Could be the injector pump is bad or something related to the injector pump.

When signing up, I don't think anyone approves it. You should get an email to authenticate your account.

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

That's exactly why I put in the new crossover tube. I moved rear sensor up to the driver side crossover and put the new temp sensor into the pass side.

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

I had to use a combo of ratcheting wrenches, swivel sockets and such. It was a PITA but they all will come out. To get the crossover out and new one back in, you have to do a little weird twisting of the tube to get it to snake out. It all will come out and back in. You will want to loosen...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

Yes, the crossover fits without removing the pump and fits correctly. The only thing I had to due was to tweak the return fuel line on the driver side, since there is a boss there for a sensor that is not on the original one. The crossover to water pump hose is at a different angle and you...

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

Yes, coolant temp and oil pressure are the 2 most important items for monitoring an engine. If either of these go out of range (i.e. very low oil pressure or very high coolant temp), damage to your engine will occur. Thinking back, I think the only vehicles I have ever had an oil temp gauge...

Damn! That's quite an event! Got pics?

    Coolant and Oil Temp Sensor

I used a HUMVEE crossover tube to add coolant sensor.

Banks to discontinue sidewinder turbo this month.

Yeah, they said the same thing when I talked to them at the Adventure Expo back in mid Feb. Turbos are their issue.

    electrical problems CUCV

I put in a headlight relay setup so full battery voltage gets to the headlights (makes them brighter) and it takes all the load off the headlight switches. They last forever. GM headlight wiring issues have been a common issue for decades.

    The mythical CUCV 4L80E swap

Ummm... not sure where you got this info but the correct fan to shroud placement is to have 1/2 to 3/4 of the fan outside of the edge of the shroud. If in too far, it will actually block airflow and cause it to run hotter. You might want to do some research before you consider the fan location...

M1010 fire rig to camper conversion

So... unless you have the diagnostic tool, why keep that plug in the truck at all? I recall removing it from my first M1010 which has a connector up under the dash, which will unplug that under dash plug. Then remove it and the mount and nothing more to worry about. Just a thought and one...

Max tire size for stock M1008

I originally put Toyo Open Country MT 255/85-16 on stock wheels and they fit great. Unfortunately one of the wheels was bent so I found a set of aluminum wheels in 16x7 size (stock is 16x6.5) and they worked great as well. No rubbing whatsoever. No lift, stock suspension. Stock wheels...

    Vent Window Question

I found this is a good video on doing the vent windows. I like the fact that this guy does not remove the pivot hinge rivet but the main bracket for the pivot. Seems like it is an easier way of doing this.

    Radiator Questions

Known a couple people (not CUCV) who have had tank failures out offroading. One had the tank near the upper hose explode. Other had one tank split from the core. Both had very long tow strap rides to a point a tow truck could get them. I had mine just re-cored and the tubes inside were a...
