Honestly, if the are not skilled enough to figure this out, which is not much different then a civilian version under the dash, I would not let them touch it. A meter or test light and about 2 minutes at the fuse block, it's figured out.
Nice work but man it looked like a lot of work to get all of that stuff to fit.
I found this system which is specifically to add A/C to CUCV's It does NOT mess with your factory heater but installs as a stand alone system up in the dash, above the heater assembly. Looks like a lot less work...
Might I suggest looking at Retro Sound radios instead of Custom Autosound. My best friend has been doing auto electrical/car stereos for over 30 years and has used about every brand of auto electrical stuff out there. He has installed a lot of Custom Autosound head units and over the years has...
The idea isn't just high power use but being a very heavy duty bellhousing, it is likely you could never crack one of these with all of that leverage and weight hanging off the back. Since there are people who have cracked bellhousing, this could be used to save an otherwise good transmission...
I have wondered if the aftermarket bellhousing would solve any cracking issues. They are used for high power applications and are SFI certified. This could be an option as well for someone with a cracked bellhousing but otherwise good trans...
There will typically be two reasons that light does not go on. One, a serious problem with the alts and they are not getting any ground source from the regulator (not likely but possible) or you have burnt out bulbs/bad connection on back of gauge panel/bad wiring between gauge panel and alt...
Does the Gen lights light up when you turn the key on but before you start the engine? If not, that is problem #1 as it needs those light to work for the alts to sense the ignition is on and they should start charging.
Actually the way these works is, when the truck is unloaded (and sitting at max ride height), the valve actually reduces the amount of pressure to the rear brakes. As you add weight to the bed and the truck starts to squat, that valve opens up more to increase the amount of pressure. If you...
Don't quote me but my understanding is HMMWV plugs are 24v and CUCV ones are 12v and the 24v power runs through the resistor pack on the firewall. They are not interchangeable.
That thing looks great!!! I assume this rig was white when Vinny had it, based on the pics. Looks sooo good in green. Mine is white as well and I am thinking of repainting it green as well.
I don't think there is an issue with too much fuel pressure before the IP, problems arise if you have too low of fuel pressure getting to the IP. As for adjusting your IP, that will be based on your exhaust. Start with what they set it at and then drive it. If under heavy load you are getting...
Oh and if that pin breaks off in the carrier (which I have had happen twice now but not on a CUCV axle) you will need this tool to remove it easily. Worked perfect.
